Rupert Everett

Not had a lot of time for him over the years: much too much of a luvvie for me. However, the man does seem to have some sensible ideas:

"I don\’t think prostitution will ever end, just as drug taking will never end. Both should be legalised as a way of controlling them. Cut out the middleman. Tax them. Use the money to fund clinics for the victims."

  1. “Victims”?

I presume he means those innocents caught in the crossfire between rival groups of drug-dealers.

Not, surely, the druggies themselves? They aren’t the victims. They are the perpetrators.

  2. “Not, surely, the druggies themselves? They aren’t the victims. They are the perpetrators.”

    Hence the term “victimless crime”.

  3. Rupert Everett is my ideal man in every way, except that he’s gay. But even that has something of an appeal because then he wouldn’t always be eyeing up other women or going to strip bars and wasting his money. And shopping would be more enjoyable.

  4. Ah, he’s great! I’m not surprised he didn’t do well in Los Angeles – can’t think of anyone less plastic.

  5. “I presume he means those innocents caught in the crossfire between rival groups of drug-dealers.”
Where do you live, South Central LA? Apart from anything else, if this bothers you so much, you should be supporting legalising drugs, as that is what will reduce violance between rival drug gangs.

“Not, surely, the druggies themselves? They aren’t the victims. They are the perpetrators.”

Peretrators of what exaxtly? Ingesting substances that you wouldn’t chose to ingest? Big deal.

    Two very silly sentences.
