Really?

Am I reading this right? On the word of a drunken, attention-seeking chav, and with no physical evidence whatsoever, plod simply arrest the first black man in a blue car they come across? Jesus wept….

  1. It’s a terrible story. I think this is wonderful logic though:

So much for the feminist claims that women ‘rarely’ make up claims about rape.

    Isn’t it just one case?

  2. Hope the arrested man never needs a full disclosure CRB check. Who is going to hire a teacher accused of rape?

  3. “Isn’t it just one case?”

Indeed, and it’s been massively reported with well-deserved outrage everywhere, as with all cases where a woman is prosecuted for lying about a rape. Without checking Factiva, my guess is that they occur about once every six months. But let’s go for the masive over-estimate of 20 per year to be charitable.

According to the British Crime Survey, 0.2% of women over 16 are raped in a given year – which is about 40,000. About 12,000 rapes are reported, and less than 1,000 rapists are convicted.

That doesn’t exactly imply the radical feminists have control of the system and are using it to subjugate the male race, does it?

  4. “Isn’t it just one case?”

No, not just one. See my previous post on poor unfortunate dead Mr Chong. Plus the recent cases blogged about by others, or in the local news, like this one. She didn’t get anyone arrested, but who knows what would have happened if she hadn’t retracted, or if a likely loking ‘suspect’ had walked past?

  5. “side note: I wonder if Essex Police would have arrested the first white chap in a car?]”

Probably. After all, in ‘victimhood poker’, a self-claimed rape ‘victim’ trumps all….

  6. Religion trumps rape. And race trumps religion. Think of a giant miserable game of rock, paper, scissors.

  7. A very miserable game indeed, for those caught up in it.

Interestingly, it seems that in johnb’s world, a four-inch report in the local ‘Southend Echo’ counts as being ‘massively reported with well-deserved outrage everywhere, as with all cases where a woman is prosecuted for lying about a rape’.

And that it doesn’t really matter if an innocent man is swept up in a police operation, fingerprinted, databased and his future career possibly hamstrung, because it probably only ‘occurs once every six months’.

Whatever happened to ‘Let justice be done, though the heavens fall..’?

  8. “a four-inch report in the local ‘Southend Echo’”

Eh? The linked piece was in the Daily Mail, and the same story ran in most of the other nationals.

“And that it doesn’t really matter if an innocent man is swept up in a police operation”

Please, do fuck off. Of course it matters, of course the rozzers in question should be roundly horsewhipped, just that a few really really bad cases involving vindictive women and innocent men don’t alter the fact that cases where rapists get away with it are far more common.

  9. “Eh? The linked piece was in the Daily Mail…”

The one I just pulled out of the ‘Echo’ and linked to at 10:51am wasn’t. That didn’t get ‘massibvly reported’ at all. I wonder just how many don’t, unless there’s some salacious aspect to them?

“…Of course it matters, of course the rozzers in question should be roundly horsewhipped, just that a few really really bad cases involving vindictive women and innocent men don’t alter the fact that cases where rapists get away with it are far more common….”

Do you mean ‘alleged rapists’ there…? Yes, I think you must do. After all, innocent until proven guilty, no?

Still, I’m sure Mr Otesile is warmed by your concern for the politically-correct ‘victims’ in this affair. And Mr Chong.

Whoops, no, not Mr Chong, sadly. Oh well, can’t make an omlette, and all that…

  10. “Do you mean ‘alleged rapists’ there…?”

    No, I mean ‘rapists’.

Not in the “every acquittal is a guilty person getting away with it” sense – just, definitionally, if someone gets raped and nobody goes to jail (whether that involves an innocent man being wrongly prosecuted and rightly acquitted, a guilty man being rightly prosecuted and wrongly acquitted, or nobody being prosecuted at all), then a rapist has got away with it.
