This will piss people off

But it seems fair enough:

In a nod to banks’ fears that reform could damage national economic growth, the FSA admitted: “We expect these costs to be absorbed by the wider economy rather than by the banks themselves.”

If we\’re going to impose costs on hte banks because of the possible effects on hte wider society then it seems logical enough that it should be the wider society paying those costs to avoid the damage to the wider society.

    THE banks THE wider society. Christ on a bike, and bloggers are meant to be the people who are putting journalists out of business?
