Erm, no Jonathan

And the tragedy is it won\’t make much difference anyway – even if the reactors do eventually get built after inevitable delay. If every OECD country follows this route, instead of pursuing the alternative mapped out above, then emissions of greenhouse gases will keep rising at a dangerously fast level, average temperatures will soar, the Greenland ice cap will melt far faster than anticipated – and all those shiny new reactors will be several metres under water. Oh, for a little bit of realism.

Absolutely no climate scientists at all are predicting that Greenland\’s going to melt by 2050 and provide a 7 metre sea rise.

By 2500 AD perhaps: but where we put our nuclear reactors now isn\’t really an issue over that timescale now, is it?

  1. “Absolutely no climate scientists at all are predicting that Greenland’s going to melt by 2050 and provide a 7 metre sea rise.”

And even if they were, who in their right mind would believe it?

  2. Porritt is an utter twat. Another like Monbiot who, if it wasn’t for his family connections, would probably be teaching geography in a sink comprehensive.

  3. If he doesn’t know this, he has no business banging on about things that are so clearly out of his intellectual grasp. If he does, he’s acting in bad faith. Either way the noble Lord Swampy can be ignored.
