Monbiot talking about climate denial books:
An American scientist I know suggests that these books and websites cater to a new literary market: people with room-temperature IQs. He didn\’t say whether he meant fahrenheit or centigrade.
A scientist would of course be referring to Kelvin making those IQs quite high really.
Anyone who disagrees with me must be thick. We know this to be the case because I write a column in the Guardian.
It’s an excellent point though that climate change ‘sceptics’ often turn out to be the least sceptical people you could imagine. The classic was that article in Pravda which was suddenly flavour of the day with ‘sceptics’, who didn’t even bother to question whether the fact the author was a 9/11 truther and mad anti-semite might cast doubt on his findings.
As opposed to global warming enthusiasts, who have just been judged to be adherents of a religion?
