Well now, there\’s a thing

David Cameron is to tell the British people that a Conservative government will not give them a referendum on the European Union’s Lisbon Treaty.

Not even in government yet and already breaking cast iron promises.

He\’s not going to be all that much better, is he?

  1. Well, I am not going to claim that Cameron will do what I want, but…..

He always said that he would give us a referendum If Lisbon was not ratified.

If you want to get angry with someone, make it Gordon & Nick, they cheated us of our referendum, not Dave.

Now if only Dave had the bottle to withhold our contributions until they get the books properly audited, it would make anything possible.

  2. I’ve never held any hope that Cameron is going to be other than marginally distinguishable from Blair – a “big state” europhile.

Looks like UKIP and the BNP are having their pre-election advertising done for free.

  3. What’s the point of a referendum on a ratified treaty? To “send a message”?

Far better to start doing things like repatriating powers. Or as suggested above, stop funds until accounts are signed off.

  4. Yeah, I’m with Kay Tie. A referendum now would be meaningless unless it triggered some sort of nuclear option like in-or-out.

    And your problem is?
