  1. What they should do is send all the senior managers home. As well as saving the most money it will give an indication of how good they are.

    If they have selected and trained their staff well, set up robust procedures and policies and “empowerment” their staff, to use a horrible phrase, there is no reason why the organisation shouldn’t keep running for a couple of weeks before it all turns to rat sh1t.

    However, if it all turns to rat shit within a few days its obvious they are crap managers and can be fired.

    The Army used to do something similar during exercises in Germany. Take out senior officers and see how well they have trained their units.

  2. How about the monuments in DC? Surely it costs more to barricade and guard them than it does to simply let people enjoy them?
