My speech to the European Parliament (and Commission) on the British referendum

“Mr President, fellow members of this Parliament, our colleagues in the Commission and the various arms of the bureaucracy.

“We come to the subject of the upcoming referendum in my native Britain on whether that fine country should remain as part of this European Union or should leave. Many people have many different views on this important subject. I shall be doing my utmost to make sure that the vote is to leave this institution. This Parliament, this Commission, this bureaucracy: Britain should leave all behind.

“It is possible to provide detailed reasons for this conclusion. However, it’s not actually necessary for me to provide them here. For there’s one very simple, conclusive and over-riding reason for why I think Britain should leave.

“I don’t want my country to be run by you fuckers.

“Thank you for the ride and good bye.”

  1. The trouble Tim is that we have traitors at the top who will ensure that every lying sack of shit on the planet will be rolled out to tell the British public that Brexit =the end of the world.

  2. Tim,

You lack “a decent respect to the opinions of mankind.”

Clipped from the Declaration of Independence (1776). You might find it an interesting read in light of the current situation.

BTW, Americans don’t really believe the DoI. Southern states seceded in the early 1860s, and Lincoln sent his armies to stop their dissolving “the political bands.”

  3. If Gandhi supported the EU he was placing untried and foolish idealism over his alleged wisdom. Perhaps he should have emulated Arnold S and first finished the Weider system. That or got some pants.

As for Rhodesia–its inhabitants have little to say by reason of fearing violent attack from socialist thugs. Leaving the EU is a big part of our attempts to avoid that same fate.

  4. “The trouble Tim is that we have traitors at the top who will ensure that every lying sack of shit on the planet will be rolled out to tell the British public that Brexit =the end of the world.”

It is already happening daily and will continue until 2017

  5. we have traitors at the top who will ensure that every lying sack of shit on the planet will be rolled out
And then we will know their names.

  6. We already know their names. They don’t haunt the shadows looking for a bargain in barrels of Malmsey wine.

  7. They don’t do the rest of Europe any good either.

Although Tim’s speech is focussed on the alternatives for Britain (or, at least, that bit of it not run by National Socialists), this is probably just as appropriate:

It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place, which you have dishonored by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice; ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government; ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.

Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess? Ye have no more religion than my horse; gold is your God; which of you have not barter’d your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth?

Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defil’d this sacred place, and turn’d the Lord’s temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices? Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation; you were deputed here by the people to get grievances redress’d, are yourselves gone! So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors.

In the name of God, go!

Although the references to God may date it a bit and require amending for relevance in these less deity-driven times.

  8. I have waited nearly my entire adult life – since Black Wednesday – to have my chance to help rid us of monster. And yet, now that my time has arrived, the politics of identity seem to work their way into me. I feel like a freedom – loving Scottish nationalist who finds himself lumped in with the cybernats, with the bully – boys on the streets screaming down anyone who dares to disagree.
If I stand up to make my case publicly I will find myself standing next to Mr Ecks, SMFS and Interested. So, astonishingly, I am asking myself whether I love my country enough the make the sacrifice of being associated with them.

  9. Ironman,

“If I stand up to make my case publicly I will find myself standing next to Mr Ecks, SMFS and Interested. So, astonishingly, I am asking myself whether I love my country enough the make the sacrifice of being associated with them.”

It’s not a definitive argument, but if you’re on the same side as embittered old gits who have misguided opinions on the American Civil War, you should ask yourself the Mitchell and Webb question:
    “Are we the baddies?”

For info, Mitchell and Webb are a moderately young comedy duo operating in the UK. See YouTube for the reference (an internet based video site, M’lud, popular with young people).

  10. On the other hand Luke, I really must be a worthless piece of shit if I find myself on the same side of an argument as you.
    You can see my dilemma.

  11. Ironman, of course. Never ever agree with people who actually live in the UK and pay their taxes there. Always support confederate nutcases. Feel free to emigrate to Portugal where my taxes will support you. ASAP

  12. That is the problem, a complex decision depends on if you hate non – English speakers, or about abstract notions of governance, such as the cesspit of “Brussels”. Things like freedom of capital and labour are more difficult in Tim ‘s world, although he depends on them. Does he pay UK tax?…. Who cares. After a few days in London hotels, served by French and Spanish folk, why should we leave the EU. Never had such good service from English people.

  13. I would like to belong to the Shengen regime….. But unlike Mr Ecks and Co I was educated and can speak foreign languages and don’t feel threatened. It must be difficult for dolts with no skills in this new world

  14. Ironman,

“So, astonishingly, I am asking myself whether I love my country enough the make the sacrifice of being associated with them.”

    Stop being a drama queen..:)

“Ever since Golden Wednesday” – yep, I agree with you. That was the point we realised, and I was perhaps slower than some of you, that monetary union simply will not work – to the advantage of the people of the euro zone – without fiscal and political union. There are legions of dribbling idiots that are still unable to comprehend that…

    Diogenes

After a few days in London hotels, served by French and Spanish folk, why should we leave the EU.

Which surely has very little to do with “being a member of the EU”. One can in fact believe in both the single market and freedom of movement whilst believing in the sovereignty of the UK parliament and not being completely subordinated to some form of USE?

    Luke has it:

    “Are we the baddies”…

  15. So Much for Subtlety

Ironman – “So, astonishingly, I am asking myself whether I love my country enough the make the sacrifice of being associated with them.”

Poe’s law? The narcissism of the younger generation really is amazing. The fate of Britain is at hand and all Ironman cares about is his feeeeeeelings?

  16. So Much for Subtlety

Diogenes – “I would like to belong to the Shengen regime….. But unlike Mr Ecks and Co I was educated and can speak foreign languages and don’t feel threatened. It must be difficult for dolts with no skills in this new world”

It must be nice to feel so effortlessly superior to other people. Keeps you warm at night or something. As far as I can see there is nothing stopping you belonging to the Schengen regime. You just need to move somewhere all those nice foreign languages are more useful.

If you do not feel threatened by uncontrolled immigration you are not paying attention.

  17. The Meissen Bison

Diogenes: I would like to belong to the Shengen regime […] and can speak foreign languages

…but you can’t spell Schengen and while there is a ‘Schengen Area’ and a ‘Schengen Agreement’, belonging to a ‘Schengen Regime’ doesn’t work in this context at all so maybe English isn’t your strong suit either?.

    Dummkopf!

  18. Dodgy-knees:”Never had such good service from English people.”

Exactly–another smug cunt who couldn’t care less so long as you are doing great.

Can you spell tyranny in the (several?) foreign languages you speak with such fluent sophistication?. You can play with yourself in whatever corner of Europe you like. Just make sure your Euro-trash pals don’t send us any more of their arrogant bullshit.

  19. I did stand. 2009, fourth or fifth on the UKIP London list. Never going to get elected from that position but that wsan’t the point.

Couldn’t possibly afford to do it last time around. Too busy trying to continue to make a living. Depends how things work out in the next couple of years, might try again. But to do it again would mean taking it seriously, taking the 6 months out to campaign properly. and that means financial stability first, then politics.

  20. Like TW I don’t want my country to be run by you fuckers and by them I mean the delusional public school boys, Bullingon Club vandals etc who now run it.
It used to be quite cool to be English; I was ,I have to admit, quite patriotic for a lefty. We had ,back in the day, a clever mixed economy that combined the public and private sectors, massive industries ( a ridiculous number of plane manufacturers) as well as good films, a literary revival ,and challenging drama. And then there was rock n roll which we colonised.New Towns and council houses were being built and you got to go to university for nothing.
Now this country is a festering de-industrialised (thanks to Blatcher) shit heap of grossly inflated house prices and low real wages.
I would gladly have Europeans running this country rather than public-school/ Oxbridge stupidos who are obsessed with the benefits of house price inflation ( for getting themselves elected)and have persuaded themselves that the international Credit Crunch never happened, that Nat West/ RBS was never going to switch off its ATM’s because it was running out of money, Northern Rock did n’t have a bank run with customers queuing down th street etc. They seriously believe that this world crisis of capitalism was caused by Gordon Brown improving British schools ( Last gasp of sanity: Gordon Brown Budget Speech 1997 “I will not allow house prices to get out of hand and put at risk the sustainability of the recovery”.)
With present level of lying it is fair to say we are being run by a possibly insane criminal clique and anything would be better, even the direction of a Eurocrat clique who may be private-sector-uber- alles extremists but who at least believe capitalism should be about making things and providing services.

  21. The EU scum aren’t going to bring your 1950s fantasy back to life DBC. What you lived thro’ was a brief flowering caused by socialist scum being able to plunder private resources on a new scale. Some of the prosperity of the past continues for a short while alongside the new stolen largesse of the left.

Remember those blue and white enamelled tins of powdered baby-milk the NHS used to hand out in the 50s/early 60s?
My Mam used to keep old buttons in one .A golden age of Nostalgia indeed. But like all things in this world that time–that brief hope of fools like yourself was doomed to fade. The plundered have ever-less to give, the reaching hands get more numerous, the heads of the little tin gods of socialism get bigger and crazier and soon the cupboard is bare. And the financial shenanigans begin.

Of course it is all Fatchers fault.

  22. This blog exemplifies my problem. The ‘Out’ campaign will need to be focused and extremely rational to have any chance of success. Instead this is what we have. The influence of Nigel Farage has turned a slight majority in favour of exit into a large lead for the ‘In’ group. And there will be no shutting him up, so there seems no hope.

  23. We all believe that trade makes us richer. Most of us accept that markets need to be regulated to work well – the consumer needs to be able to compare one product with another. To promote trade, we should harmonize regulation across the widest practicable area – call it a “common market”. Europe, in so far as countries want to join in, would seem to be a reasonable choice of area.

So what we want is a European Community which governs Europe as a market but not otherwise. How about making a speech in favour of that?

Well, I know you, Tim W, can’t do that, because you’ve signed up to UKIP, which bases its appeal on a thoroughly illiberal opposition to the free movement of labour (though not your own). Which is a pity.

  24. SJW–Mega bollocks.

“Most of us accept that markets need to be regulated to work well – the consumer needs to be able to compare one product with another”

What has state meddling to do with comparing products? The states antics ensure only there are fewer products to compare and they are more expensive and less useful. The EPA twats in the US (“Land of the Free”) spring to mind with their mandated ecopiddle-power showers and can’t-quite-do- the- job flush toilets. And the influx world-wide of crappy cold-water washing machines. Still you prob won’t notice your dingy shirt under the “light” from your dingy EU-ordered dinge bulb.

” To promote tyranny, we should harmonize regulation across the widest practicable area – call it a “common market”. Europe, in so far as political and bureaucratic supposed elites want to join in, would seem to be a reasonable choice of area.”.

“So what I and my fellow leftists want is a European Community which governs Europe as a market but not otherwise except down to the smallest possible detail of what used to be your private daily life.”

Just made one or two little typo corrections for you. No charge

“How about making a speech in favour of that?”

So long as it is from the scaffold.

  25. SJW

I thought Tim was signed up to UKIP long before its recent foray into immigration? I find the idea that one cannot support UKIP without believing in notions such as the single market / some freedom of movement slightly odd?

What you described in your first two paragraphs is not on offer, not from any of the 3 mainstream parties (and whether I agree with your vision or not, and I am far from convinced that regulations for the single market should apply to “intra UK” activities).

The EU is headed towards a USE (or EUSSR, call it what you want). Anyone who denies that is either lying or naive. Only UKIP (as a party in terms of policy) is committed to reversing that process.

If some form of Brexit could be achieved, then why do you assume that UKIP’s view of post Brexit would prevail? Let’s not forget, they have one MP, and it is for the UK government of the day to negotiate with foreign… Hence, post a referendum, UKIP would (immediately at least) become less relevant to the “post Article 50” re-negotiation, whatever the rhetoric.

As far as I am concerned, once we’ve said no, common sense dictates that the UK and the EU simply pursue the best win-wins available. For example, German car manufacturers will still want to continue to export loads of cars to their largest export market – and without tariffs, and which Angela will be pressured (by her own team) into agreeing to. Freedom of movement (within the comparable economies of Western Europe at an absolute minimum) is another very clear win-win (young educated attractive signoritas to London, whilst we despatch our wrinkly class (no offence, Tim) to the Med. Etc etc..??
