Just how far in the tank the media is for the Democrats

Hillary Clinton was a modern suffragette in white for historic DNC speech

The Suffragettes wore white, Hills wore white, she’s a Suffragette.

Believe me, this shit is all over the place.

Melania Trump wore white but she’s just some bitch who wore a dress designed by a foreigner, a Slovene, whatever suburb of Europistan that is.

The British press is just as partial of course (cue Miliboy being intellectually bested by a bacon butty) but the American media is hugely proud of its impartiality. They even all do Masters degrees in how to be impartial. And then they pull this sort of crap?

  1. I think she will look better when she puts on her orange suit.

You know the one with the exclusive label “State Penitentiary.”

  2. How much coverage was there of the Melania plagiarism thing at the RNC? Lots.

How much coverage was there of the presentation which unfortunately used a photo of Russian warships to illustrate the US Navy at the DNC? Almost none.

I’d say those were two stupid mistakes of pretty much equal importance.

Here’s your handy bias tester. Go to the website of your chosen news provider and search for “melania trump plagiarism”. Count the number of results. Now search for “democrats russian warships”. Count the results. Compare.

  3. I just tried that experiment, and learnt that the Russian warships cock-up happened to the Democrats convention in 2012. Might that explain why it’s not being extensively covered in 2016?

  4. Trump isn’t running against Hillary – he’s running against the media.

And he’s trolling like a king and winning.

  5. I’m not sexist or nothin’, but the suffragettes were wrong and it was a terrible idea to give women the vote.

For every Margaret Thatcher there’s been half a dozen shitty Eva Peron knockoffs like Mrs Clinton or that mad bitch in Germany.

  6. Shrillary is a Suffragette? Is she planting white feathers on young men who haven’t enlisted in the Army? Is she agitating for war against Germany?

    Interesting.

  7. Any chance that Killary will emulate another famous suffragette, Emily Davison ?

  8. I hope they get a Brexit-type result over there. Patronise the living F out of the voters, pile on the bias, then be gobsmacked when the result goes against them.

Has journalism always been this bad and biased?

It seems to have gone batshit at the minute, looking at the Lloyds bank coverage for instance: yesterday morning the bank publicly says no, job losses nothing to do with Brexit; this morning’s Metro leads with job losses ‘cos Brexit. Others carry the same incorrect info, apparently just ripped from a mistaken Reuters report.

Blogs like this seem to be one of the few places to get the straight goods now.

  9. It is looking more and more to me that Obama may try to draw Russia into overt operations in Ukraine to create enough war fever in the US to deliver the election to HRC. The Ukraine appears to be preparing an offensive in Eastern Ukraine with US and NATO assistance to force Russia’s hand, either allowing Eastern Ukraine to fall or respond militarily.

At the same time, the US would also ramp up operations in Syria oriented toward entangling Russia further there in order to undermine Patin’s domestic support and also get the Saudis to drop the oil price to further squeeze Russia economically to create civil unrest.

The pretext would be Putin’s interference in US politics.

Also expect the executive branch to do everything in its power to goose the US economy in the coming quarter prior to the election.

  10. With respect, Bob, you are nuts.
The scenario you paint is like getting the Bolshoi Ballet to play at Glasto.

  11. Usually right-wing media in the US support the Democrat candidate and very right-wing media support the Republican candidate. This time, Trump has gone out of his way to offend Fox, so perhaps coverage is a bit less balanced.

However, the likes of Mark Poles above think it shows bias when the non-insane press chooses not to print made-up stories from the nutjob internet.

  12. Errr… the warships thing wasn’t made up. You yourself said that it “happened to the Democrats convention in 2012”. So you’ve actually managed to contradict your own comment. Well done.

And you’ll note that I made no reference whatsoever to the date of either event. Since the search function on most news sites goes back several years, my test is still valid.

  13. SJW, but in 2012 there was ZERO media coverage of a major stuff up, because racism perhaps.

For this season then, note that the.re was n mention that Michelle Obama lifted her speech (that Melania is supposed to have plagiarised) almost word for word from a 1990’s book about doing business in Africa, and that Bob Dole’s wife used near identical words to Michelle back in 1996. Why not, is it racist to mention it or something ? If it was important that Melania used those words so similar to previous speakers, why not when Michelle does ?

  14. Ed Snack: I am sure Miss World contestants don’t plagiarise each other, they just choose the same cliches expected of them, ditto political wives eg Mrs Dole, Mrs Obama, Mrs Trump.

  15. I’m surprised that the SJW’s haven’t decided that the name Melania is offensive to darkies or something

  16. BiW – That’s a bit racist. It’s “coloured chappies” now.

The wife got cross with me this morning for saying “Jap”. Apparently “Jap” is now lacist.

I said “What else am I going to call it? A Japanese person’s eye???

Political correctness gone mad! I didn’t vote Leave to put up with this shit.

  17. TiS – it depends on where you are. Benedict Cumberbatch had to grovel for using the word ‘coloured’ across the pond, when you’re supposed (apparently) to use ‘black’. Even though one of the oldest established ‘black’ organisations calls itself the ‘National Association for the Advancement of Colored People’. Go figure, as they say over there.

  18. ES: Bob Dole’s wife used near identical words to Michelle back in 1996

    No she didn’t.

No one in their right mind thinks this is a big deal. It’s best just to admit that Melania’s speechwriter messed up and move on.

  19. Steve: I said “What else am I going to call it? A Japanese person’s eye???

I am going to recall that line throughout the day and snigger to myself as I try to fill in the context. Bravo, sir.

  20. @SJW

“Usually right-wing media in the US support the Democrat candidate and very right-wing media support the Republican candidate. This time, Trump has gone out of his way to offend Fox, so perhaps coverage is a bit less balanced.”

Oh, and the left-wing media stands above and beyond all this
remaining truly objective and fair, I suppose?

    Give me a break.

  21. @ Rob
The Suffragettes planted white feathers on *wounded soldiers convalescing from their wounds*. It made my grandmother furious. She was still angry about it when she told me and I wasn’t born until after the *next* world war.
