Well, he had to do something

But there’s not all that much evidence here, is there?

The United States has expelled 35 Russian spies in response to Kremlin-backed interference in the presidential election, further escalating tensions between Moscow and Washington.

Was it actually Russians? And if it was was is state backed (you would not believe what happens in the hacking world over there which is not state backed, although they might be paying off state officials)?

And finally, it was the content of the emails that was the problem, wasn’t it?

But, you know, Hills couldn’t have lost just because she was a shit candidate, could she?

All rather reminiscent of Weimar Germany. We didn’t lose! We were stabbed in the back!

  1. The dying actions of Obama are making me think WWIII is just around the corner. He’s doing everything he can in his last few seconds of power to try and make a name for himself in history because he didn’t do anything in the last four years. He will succeed – but not in the way he thinks, he’ll be seen as the lamest duck of a president ever.

  2. He is behaving like a petulant child in his last hours. This is not as bad as his Israel vote but it is fairly pathetic.

Not that I am opposed to expelling Russian diplomats. As the Russians will not play by the normal rules they should all be expelled. All the time. But doing it over this rather than Syria or Crimea or any one of a dozen other things is nuts.

  3. @SBML – let me correct that for you – it’s the last 8 years in which he has done nothing legacyworthy.

I’m sure the republicans emails also contain plenty of ammunition but they were not released. Someone wanting to swing the election and have some control over the winner would hack both and release the people they want to lose before the election, and threaten to drip-feed those of the winner afterwards.

So yes, while the Clinton emails contain some stuff their electorate won’t agree with, it’s churlish not to admit that those of her opponent certainly would do to.

  4. By burning bridges with Russia, Obama’s just making it easier for The Donald to build new ones.

    Obama’s a twat.

  5. His actions are almost beyond belief, but for our experience of the referendum and that no one seems to take losing gracefully anymore. They will have to do something about this transitional period of lame duck presidents in case they vote for another emotional retard who wants to have a shit in the Oval office.

  6. But remember, taking a phone call from the Taiwanese president was the Most Reckless Thing, Ever.

Having the Democrat Party treat Russia as their own personal enemy is not in the interests of the USA.

  7. Were I Trump the Scrawny Jug-Eared Cunt would not be absent from the White House for long. Within hours of his departure he would find himself, not on an exclusive golf course, but sitting under harsh lights on a stool in the White House basement/bunker. In the midst of a black glove interview telling all about his 8 years of crime.

(A stool rather than a chair so he can be punched/kicked off it in any direction).

Trump should take his chance to destroy/jail Mr Hope and Change as well as the Clinton clan. They deserve it many times over.

  8. Regarding Republican / Trump emails, dirt etc. not being released by Wikileaks, I saw an interview with Julian Assange on RT a few weeks ago where that question came up.
Assange said there was nothing to expose as basically everything they had on Trump had been put out there by Trump already.

  9. Honestly, even if it was the Russians, it was a hack of some internal Democratic squabbles. I doubt anyone voted differently as a result of such tedious shit.

I suspect the real motive was to undermine Madam President. I think the Russians thought she’d win, but if they could piss off all the democrats in the Bernie camp, they could disrupt her activities.

Look, people. Stop… fucking…whining. Putin didn’t inject a Manchurian Candidate chip into Hilary’s brain to get her to say “We are going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business” in West Virginia.

  10. BiGgy – Someone wanting to swing the election and have some control over the winner would hack both and release the people they want to lose before the election, and threaten to drip-feed those of the winner afterwards.

I fucking loved THE X FILES too, before it got boring, but nah. The “Russians hacked the election because they aired MY dirty laundry and not the other guy’s!” theory falls down due to there being no evidence for it whatsoever.

Julian Assange, who – whatever you think of him – has an impressive track record of telling the truth, says the DNC emails were leaked – not hacked – by a DNC staffer, not the damn Rooskies.

The FBI says there’s no evidence the Republicans got hacked, so if Putin has a super secret stash of blackmail material on them he’s been very clever to hide his tracks.

And it’s simply not true to suggest, as the butthurt brigades have suggested, that because no RNC emails were leaked that means Trump somehow didn’t face intense scrutiny before winning the election. That’s a clownish inversion of reality: Trump was the most talked-about, most criticised, most intensely investigated political candidate in history.

Obama is a pissy, petty, pernicious little prig of a man and his sanctions are pathetic.

  11. The Inimitable Steve,

The worst part is that the FBI and CIA are basically being Obama’s BFF in all of this. In a nutshell, their perspective is that there’s no way that Fuckface von Clownstick should have won this election, that good, honest, smart decent Americans wouldn’t have voted for Agent Orange and the only reason he is as a result of an external evil.

I’m pretty sure the Russians did at least something. Because that’s what countries do. The big O himself decided to lie regarding Britain’s status post-Brexit, so he tried to change our election result, so can fuck off..

  12. “The big O himself decided to lie regarding Britain’s status post-Brexit, so he tried to change our election result, so can fuck off”

Spot on. Another case of “SJWs always project”.

  13. ‘So yes, while the Clinton emails contain some stuff their electorate won’t agree with, it’s churlish not to admit that those of her opponent certainly would do to.’

BiG, your Appeal to Common Practice Fallacy is lame.

  14. Was MLK wrong all those years ago? His cause was noble but the result has been Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and O.

Still, maybe every noble cause will throw up some turds among its consequences.

  15. BiG,

the Republican emails (all 34 of them) consist of single phrases with the word STOP at the end of each line and no more than 25 words in total because you have to pay extra for them.

  16. BiW – I’m pretty sure the Russians did at least something.

They’d definitely at least like like to influence US politics. Everyone does, hence the fat governmental donations to the Clinton Foundation.

Doubt the Russians had the ability to do much though, and selective leaking of a political party’s emails (if it was the Russians, which it problably wasn’t) is penny ante stuff. J Edgar Hoover wouldn’t have gotten out of bed for that.

The Rooskies were preparing for war if Hillary got in, and I don’t think that was entirely paranoid on their part.

Hillary, a thoroughly stupid and unpleasant woman, could easily have bumbled into WW3 in her eagerness to be seen as “tough”.

The world is safer without her trembling, liver-spotted hands on the nuclear trigger. So maybe Putin should fess up and collect his Nobel Peace Prize.

  17. dearieme,

The result right now is working through a lot of guilt and fantasies. It’s somewhat inevitable, I think. People pinned a lot of hope on Obama, probably a ridiculous amount, as some sort of black messiah, a man who could heal the nation.

We’ll never see another president like him again. If there’s a black candidate, they won’t get that level of adoration. He or she (sadly, probably too late for Condi) will be tested as a candidate like any other.

  18. http://thehill.com/policy/national-security/312132-fbi-dhs-release-report-on-russia-hacking

‘The document makes clear reference to the hacks of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta, though it does not mention either by name.’

Jesus H. Christ, EVERYONE hacked DNC and Podesta. They are e-tards.

The entire allegation that the Russians ‘hacked the U.S. election’ is stupid. It makes sweeping assumptions, that the election was lost because of the Wikileaked emails (it wasn’t)(hacking servers and stealing emails is not in any way ‘hacking the election’), and that Wikileaks got the emails from the Russians, which Wikileaks says they didn’t.

Obama taking action is just more “stuck on stupid.”

  19. Obama – eight years of quiet but solid incompetence and then a sudden cadenza of idiocy from this anatine cripple.

  20. So, lemme get this straight. Russia hacks the Whitehouse, crickets.

Russia alledgedly hacks and publishes some internal DNC dirty laundry, thereby giving Democrats the transparency they say they are in favour of, and suddenly it’s sanctions and trying to start WW3.

You’d think that the Democrats were more interested in what’s good for Democrats than what’s good for the country. Or something…

  21. Ohhh… So Rosa Luxemberg and the rest of the people (singular) who ran the Socialist Party didn’t stab Germany in the back? News to me.

  22. It’s a matter of public record that the White House tried to derail Netanyahu’s reelection. There wasn’t even anything particularly covert about it.

  23. I think we should all remember, with fondness, the Guardians efforts to hack the American election. How did that Ohio thing go for them again?

America has been promoting colour revolutions all over the world. Good for them. It is only fair play if Russia gets in on the act too.
