According to budget documents obtained by the Washington Post, the Trump administration plans to end the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program, which more than 400,000 people are counting on as part of their financial future.
Signed into law in 2007 by George W Bush as part of the College Cost Reduction and Access Act, the program offers those whose jobs benefit society – government and non-profit employees – the chance to have their student loans forgiven after 10 years of on-time, income-based payments. The amount of money this would cost the government would presumably not exceed what it would have cost to simply pay these workers more.
The bureaucrats might get less money. We should all start crying, right?
And yes, if you think bureaucrats should be paid more then you should argue that bureaucrats should be paid more. And we’d like to see your sums please, including pensions, retiree health benefits and the rest.

An exercise for the reader: Consider the so-called “College Cost Reduction and Access Act”, signed in 2007. Would you expect college costs to have fallen, remained stable, or risen? Answers here.
Excellent idea. I hope he pushes it through. This could destroy a lot of ‘angry studies’ departments and the cessation of their pernicious bullshit would be a great thing.
There was a study some years ago that showed that in the federal govt, low-pay workers were overpaid compared to people outside, and high-pay workers were underpaid.
I concluded that the highly paid were in it for power, the lowly paid for dosh (or an easy life).

Somebody is going to go into government. So, do you really want the sort of person who would loon at that package and say “yep, that’s the best I can get”? Do you fancy the results of that?
Forget the 150% for a second, but we already do (have that sort of person), and we already have the results and outcomes – that much is fairly obvious..
