  1. Walker’s crinkle-cut crisps are very good. Lineker has become a bit of a plonker. Neither point is relevant, but wot the hell.

  2. I thought Savile’s reputation had been tarnished enough. Now he’s being associated with that twat Lineker.

  3. Have any of you good people (or Dave) seen “The New European”?

It’s like news from some sort of alternative timeline where the oppressed British masses are crying out for more Europe.

Also, it seems Michael Heseltine’s hair has found a new host.

  4. It’s like these people have Alzheimer’s. Did no-one on the coding team for this app raise the point with the technically-illiterate mong who thought it up that sites with uncurated, publically-sourced content will always, always be hijacked by ne’er-do-wells? It is an immutable law of the universe. Someone needs a P45 and a kick in the arse.

They probably did point it out and were told to shut up and get on with the code monkey work. You can always tell a marketing manager, but you can’t tell him much.

  6. This is why I adopt a policy of nullus in verba when asked to do mongish things by marketmongs. CYA memos are very useful things to bring to the post-mortem.

Project was doomed to fail – Microsoft’s twitter bot is case study.

  8. @ TIS
When the “New European” started it had some news in it so I read it for a few weeks/months but I just couldn’t keep it up. I actually read the “Daily Worker” for longer.

  9. Judging by the amount of exposure this campaign has now got I say well played to the Marketing Manager.

  10. I’m with Jabba: even if it wasn’t the marketing droids’ intention, this might still count as a win. After all, it’s got everyone here talking about it and dearieme even giving a personal recommendation of Walkers’ product.
