Apple’s stock control system is more effective than Communist China’s control of the borders

Must be so, that’s why people attempt to smuggle iPhones they’ve legally bought into China rather than nicking them from the factory inside China

  1. Numbers matter. Relatively few of Foxconn/Apple’s employees in China will have access to the finished goods, maybe only a few hundred. By contrast there are millions of people crossing China’s borders each day.

  2. No matter how big Apple’s factory is, the perimeter will be way shorter than China’s borders.

  3. Interesting way of looking at what is/isn’t in an iPhone – anything that Apple includes must be able to be produced reliably and supplied to the assembly plants (combined) at around 1,000 items per second. Low output items that cannot meet this standard can’t be used.

    Staggering volumes.

  4. Short of searching everyone on the way in you can’t stop it. They also don’t give a shit about foreigners bringing in banned phones as personal effects, and they don’t check you still have it on the way out.
