So, how does this work?

Five men and a woman have been charged with being members of banned far-right group National Action following a string of arrests last week.

West Midlands Police said Nathan Pryke, 26, Adam Thomas, 21, Claudia Patatas, 28, Darren Fletcher, 28, Daniel Bogunovic, 26, and 24-year-old Joel Wilmore will all appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

A police spokesman said all six accused, who come from Cambridge, Oxfordshire, Wolverhampton, Leicester and Stockport, had been charged with being a member of a proscribed organisation contrary to section 11 of the Terrorism Act.

So, banned in December 2016. At which point does membership become a crime?

At the moment of banning? Bit harsh, as it’s only just become illegal. At the end of a subscription? When the membership card runs out?

Note this isn’t about this particular banning, it’s purely about the mechanics of when something legal turns into something illegal.

  1. Depends. In this case, we’re talking about a patriotic organisation of normal British (well, and Polish) people, not terrorist aliens.

So if you were to have a National Action banner on a twitter account that you don’t use anymore the day after the arbitrary banning of the organisation, you’re a terrorist.

  2. How many people have this group killed? How many bombs have they set?

If the answer is ‘zero’, why are WMP wasting their precious time on them?

There are far more Islamist terrorists in trial and convicted of terror offenders who haven’t killed or even harmed anyone. Just because they haven’t carried out a terror attack doesn’t mean they aren’t terrorists of planned to commit terrorism.

However, I’ve been a long time observer of fascist and anti-fascist responses in the UK. It does appear the same old over hyping by politically discredited people trying to whip up fear in order to shore up their own political purpose and virtue.

Just look at what people have been saying, things like ‘this group is well organised and could recruit reams of youth to the scale of the hitler youth etc etc’.

No one uses that language to talk about Islamist recruitment.

This nazi fear is as always overblown and mostly an illusion.

Still, intelligence services should keep tabs on organised nazis who talk about using violence.

  4. When the label “Nazi” (socialist scum anyway) is extended to pug dogs–then it in fact and practice means anyone who won’t suck socialist dick.

  5. When plod starts arresting people with names like “Pryke” and “Patatas” one can’t help but wonder if the secret hand of God isn’t at work here.

  6. Rob: What’s wrong with talking about using violence?

The state has used violence against National Action members, other British patriots, hell against folks selling vegetables with a system of measurements that’s appropriate to human beings.

Why should these people not be allowed to talk about using violence- whether by taking political power and using state violence, or privately- in support of the historical British nation* for once?

Why should they not be allowed to finish fights that communist/anarchist filth started?

This sort of thing is not done to communist subhuman filth, or the hadjis. Your talk about Islamist terrorists being convicted of terror offences without harming anyone is only true because they are stupid enough to accept suicide vests from obvious informers, shortly before the cops bust in. An entirely different manner from some good folks discussing the fact that Britain won’t be taken back without breaking a few eggs.

  7. There are some other pretty interesting statements in other articles on the matter..

“Thomas, who sported a shaved head, indicated a not guilty plea to possessing information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, namely the Anarchist Cookbook.”

Just in case anyone is interested in removing “from the kingdom all the foreign knights, bowmen, their attendants, and the mercenaries that have come to it, to its harm”, it’s not worth being caught with the joke that is the ‘Anarchist’s Cookbook’ even if it does have some funny stuff in it. Stick to Inspire magazine and US Army field manuals for counterinsurgency.

  8. The sensible way would be if you’re still actively participating in the proscribed group’s activities post ban. The individual can help it if the group leaves them on their membership list after they stop having anything to do with it.

  9. You have a defence if the organisation was not proscribed at the last (or only time) you became a member and if you have not taken part in any activities of the organisation at any time since it was proscribed.

    Terrorism Act 2000 Paragraph 11 (2)

  10. Lefties cry “far-right” to draw attention away from their support of Muslim atrocities.

Prior restraint, spying on your own people, suspension of liberty seems to be the wrong response to terrorism.

  11. Its got me worried cos I once voted for the BNP in a General Election and have been guilty of watching You Tube videos on the them too….I was never a member though.

When the membership of the BNP reaches dozens then they will named as terrorists and dealt with too…Its about 500 at the moment, thats just a bit too many homegrown terrorists to ban.

  12. JuliaM: “How many people have this group killed? How many bombs have they set?

If the answer is ‘zero’, why are WMP wasting their precious time on them?”

Because the point of the exercise is not to prevent terrorist attacks (obviously). It is instead to show that ANY form of resistance to the replacement and breeding out of the indigenous European population will not be tolerated.

  13. Jonathan Abbott: A horseshoe theory enthusiast? Wow, that’s such a really interesting and novel idea.

No- the only way National Action are ‘indistinguishable from the far left’ is that unlike the false right, they _actually want to win_.

  14. During the bad old days of Apartheid South Africa, organisations were constantly being banned or declared proscribed. They would vanish for a few weeks and then reappear with a different name but pretty much the same people and goals.

  15. “Paul Rain: fuck off and stop apologising for bastards who in their own way are indistinguishable from the far left.”

They *are* the far left. Their other name is “National Socialist
    Anti-Capitalist Action”. (aka “NS131”).

Since the National Socialists gave the left’s reputation for upstanding morality such a hit, the left have waged a propaganda campaign to persuade the world that Hitler, Nazis, Fascists, etc. are all on the far *right*. It’s a lie.

These are just the old style far left, who refused to move with the times when everyone else turned against them.

  16. By the way, to answer Tim’s question, see s11 of part II of the Terorrism Act 2000.

    https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2000/11/section/11

    11 Membership.

(1)A person commits an offence if he belongs or professes to belong to a proscribed organisation.

(2)It is a defence for a person charged with an offence under subsection (1) to prove—

(a)that the organisation was not proscribed on the last (or only) occasion on which he became a member or began to profess to be a member, and

(b)that he has not taken part in the activities of the organisation at any time while it was proscribed.

  17. NiV: Laughable. Do you think that others are so stupid they don’t realize that the Third Reich, Spanish Falangists, etc, were perfectly happy for businessmen to continue in business?

They were a bit down on the practices of certain businessmen in the previous regime who would prostitute pregnant 14 year olds, though. Weimar Germany was rather similar to Rotherham, 2010 in that respect.

  18. “NiV: Laughable. Do you think that others are so stupid they don’t realize that the Third Reich, Spanish Falangists, etc, were perfectly happy for businessmen to continue in business?”

Do you really think anyone is so stupid as to believe that an organisation calling itself “The National Socialist and German Workers Party” was right wing? Or “National Socialist
    Anti-Capitalist Action”? Ha! Ha!

    Let’s see…

“7. We demand that the State shall above all undertake to ensure that every citizen shall have the possibility of living decently and earning a livelihood. If it should not be possible to feed the whole population, then aliens (non-citizens) must be expelled from the Reich.”

“10. The first duty of every citizen must be to work mentally or physically. No individual shall do any work that offends against the interest of the community to the benefit of all.

    Therefore we demand:

    11. That all unearned income, and all income that does not arise from work, be abolished.

    12. Since every war imposes on the people fearful sacrifices in blood and treasure, all personal profit arising from the war must be regarded as treason to the people. We therefore demand the total confiscation of all war profits.

    13. We demand the nationalization of all trusts.

    14. We demand profit-sharing in large industries.

    15. We demand a generous increase in old-age pensions.

    16. We demand the creation and maintenance of a sound middle-class, the immediate communalization of large stores which will be rented cheaply to small tradespeople, and the strongest consideration must be given to ensure that small traders shall deliver the supplies needed by the State, the provinces and municipalities.

    17. We demand an agrarian reform in accordance with our national requirements, and the enactment of a law to expropriate the owners without compensation of any land needed for the common purpose. The abolition of ground rents, and the prohibition of all speculation in land.

    18. We demand that ruthless war be waged against those who work to the injury of the common welfare. Traitors, usurers, profiteers, etc., are to be punished with death, regardless of creed or race.”

You think those are *right*-wing policies?!

    Ha! Ha! Ha!

You can certainly understand why revolutionary left-wingers would say that. It does raise the interesting question as to why you’re trying so hard to persuade us that Hitler was right-wing, though. Hmmm.

  19. Back in the day when people were being convicted of IRA membership I did used to woder what made one a member. I didn’t imagine the IRA issued membership cards and kept a membership database.

  20. NiV: None of those policies are ‘left wing’, in the absence of a parasite class. Hitler wasn’t giving old-age pensions to worthless pikeys.
