Race in the UK

Even Winston Churchill, who historians have found believed in racial hierarchies and eugenics, escapes scrutiny beyond his war hero reputation.

As did just about everyone before, say, 1960?

Our classrooms are diverse and students want to learn what is most relevant to their lives. If they are to demand change and equality, they need to understand that the playing field isn’t level for everyone. They deserve a safe place to talk about why that isn’t the case and ask difficult questions – for example, about the meaning of structural racism. How has British history negatively affected countries around the world that the ancestors of many British citizens once called home?

That march through the institutions thing……

Instead, the curriculum supports an ideology that doesn’t acknowledge many of the flaws in UK history. In whitewashing the discrimination and bloodshed in our past, is it any such a wonder that parts of our society are racist, misogynistic and prejudiced? It’s not enough to discuss these issues in Black History Month in October and ignore the reality of racism that minorities have to endure all year round. Students need to be taught to critically analyse these events and empathise with people across cultures in a diverse but interconnected world.

Ah, critical studies.

How about teaching kids what happened and then adults the implications of it all?

  1. How about all-out war on the scum of socialism?

Purge the schools and unis. Make Common Purpose a banned , terrorist connected organisation and a criminal offense to be a member.

Sack the Senior Civil Service en masse etc,

A hell of a lot more could and should be done but it is all far beyond the grasp of BluLabour and the stupid Fish Faced Cow.

  2. It is just the self-loathing teaching young people to loathe themselves too.

If they are to demand change and equality, they need to understand that the playing field isn’t level for everyone.

If. Why would we want them to demand change and equality? After all, non-equal things cannot be equal and it is pointless to try to make them equal. The major races evolved apart for tens of thousands of years. Inevitably they are going to be different in a variety of ways. With luck none of those are significant. But there is no reason to think none are.

They deserve a safe place to talk about why that isn’t the case and ask difficult questions – for example, about the meaning of structural racism.

Yeah. The playgrounds of Britain are full of children who want to learn about structural racism. In fact we all know the reality which is that the children who are most realistic about race are exactly those children who suffer retaliation and punishment for being so. Let’s give them a safe space shall we?

How has British history negatively affected countries around the world that the ancestors of many British citizens once called home?

Ummm, not at all? Every part of the world is massively better off because the British existed. They are even more lucky if the British came and gave them some civilisation. See Hong Kong compared to the rest of China for instance.

In whitewashing the discrimination and bloodshed in our past, is it any such a wonder that parts of our society are racist, misogynistic and prejudiced?

What whitewashing? There is not the slightest chance that 1 in 100 schools in Britain is even close to fair to the Empire. Parts of our society are racist, misogynistic and prejudiced because they come from Third World sh!tholes where that is the way they have always been. Some other parts are because they have met said people from said Third World sh!tholes. Anti-racism is easiest done if you live Kensington.

Students need to be taught to critically analyse these events and empathise with people across cultures in a diverse but interconnected world.

Hate themselves for being White in other words. Whereas in the real world Whites have performed miracles that other cultures could only ascribe to Gods. Everyone dreamed of flying to the Moon. The Indians did not get there first.

  3. “Secret Teacher: the UK has a complex racial history. Why aren’t we teaching it?”

According to the 1951 census, the non-white population of England was 0.5%.
In the 2011 census that had become 20.1%, so this alleged ‘complex racial history’ has been around for less than 70 years.

” By reflecting the histories and perspectives of marginalised citizens, teachers can build pupils’ understanding and empathy. ”

I look forward to an article in the Guardian demanding that muslims in Britain are taught to understand and empathise with working-class English girls instead of raping them by the tens of thousands.

  4. “Students need to be taught to critically analyse these events and empathise with people across cultures in a diverse but interconnected world”

No to empathise with school pupils across the world you need to be taught what they are taught, which is quite no very very likely to be as self serving and nationalist and biased as all the other history curricula is and has ever been.

And your particular bias secret teacher is what? I’d say its look for someone who lived hundreds of years ago with a particular skin tone, find out what they did with their lives.. and build a curriculum out of it. And then say:”here’s your history dusky pupils, and pasty pupils congratulations you can now empathise. You are welcome”
    .. No thanks matey.

  5. It’s not enough to discuss these issues in Black History Month

I mean, I don’t want to be unfair, but do they really need a whole month to talk about Desmond’s? Granted it did run for 6 serieses.

  6. ‘students want to learn what is most relevant to their lives. If they are to demand change and equality’

Students are kids. Kids demanding change is what we need? Kids demanding equality will get anyone’s attention?

‘Growing up as a person of colour, racism was an ever-present discussion in my circles. When you’re a minority it is, sadly, a part of life.’

This is a lie. You would have to be seriously personality disordered to live this way.

Kids can demand Brits stop being white, but that’s going to take another generation to achieve. The cure for his alleged perpetual self pity is to move to South Africa til then.

Note that only the West allows this shit. This kind of talk would get him no where in the Eastern world.

The Secret Teacher is practicing sedition. The Guardian supports it. The school system supports it.

  7. “They deserve a safe place to talk about why that isn’t the case and ask difficult question”

How about questioning the veracity of ‘The Bell Curve’?

  8. ‘Growing up as a person of colour, racism was an ever-present discussion in my circles. When you’re a minority it is, sadly, a part of life.’

Geez. If I thought I wasn’t wanted, I would move somewhere else. Amazing how many brown people travel thousands of miles to be oppressed by the white man.

  9. When you force feed kids at school with political bias and then force them to speak and learn in another language you get whats happened in catalunya.

Its all young people with their heads up their arses brainwashed…the twats always mention democracy but nowt to do with the country they live in,or anyone elses democracy just their bit of democracy they want.

  10. They use “democracy” as totalist language. It is brainwashing; Mr Secret Teacher is brainwashing his kids. Guardian is happy.

  11. I particularly like the tired old line about the UK always having been a land of immigrants because “Romans Vikings Normans”.

I point out that the last of those was a thousand years ago and they were all bloody invasions which saw the locals slaughtered. So not a great endorsement to the idea of more foreigners being allowed in today.

But as the stat mentioned above shows, it’s too late. From 99.5% of the population having been here for generations to 20% not having British ancestry much further back than the start of Channel 4.

  12. Meh. Aeroplanes can fly in both directions. Stop coddling them, stop paying them to breed, and many will leave.

  13. It’s not the genes that matter. It’s the transition to the “Britain is bad” meme, wholeheartedly endorsed – sponsored by – the Guardian.

Happening here in America, too. Before immigration was banned in 1924, all immigrants were expected to assimilate. All. To become Americans.

Current immigration/invasion isn’t viewed as getting new Americans/Brits, with love for George Washington and the Constitution, it is viewed as the West paying a debt to the rest of the world.

Rational people see that it is the rest of the world that should have gratitude for the West. Not a debt; we are happy with just a “Thanks.”

Secret Teacher, if that’s his real name, is simply evil. The Guardian endorses/sponsors evil.

  14. Students need to be taught to critically analyse these events

Reality – children will be indoctrinated with a political distortion of history and any dissent will be ruthlessly suppressed.

  15. The Left gasping with pretend horror at eugenics really is proof that when you control the Narrative and history you really can get away with saying anything.

  16. As I understand it, the new opinion based on studies of ancient DNA is that the greatest single change in the population of Northern Europe (including the British Isles) happened with the arrival of the Bronze Age people whose origins trace back to the Eurasian steppe. They seem to have “replaced” about 90% of the population. (I don’t know what the casualty rate is thought to have been for the mesolithic people when the first farmers arrived.) That contrasts with the claim that the English and Scots are about 30% Anglo-Saxon, the Welsh 20% and the Irish 10%. (Which Irish? Dunno.)

  17. And, I suppose it’s worth adding, the Anglo-Saxons (and Danes, and Normans and Flemings and Bretons …) were anyway peoples pretty similar to the existing population.

  18. So, until roughly my lifetime there had been no profound change in the population since about 2500 BC.

  19. Ecksy

Whatever the merits of your proposals above — and I loathe Common Purpose – no party proposing such a programme could achieve elected power in the UK. Consequently, you can’t hold the FFC responsible for not implementing even parts of your programme. You’ll just have to continue ranting in your little crab bucket while you fantasize about a British Pinochet.

  20. South Wales (the industrial valleys) was an interesting mix. The population grew from near zero to tens or hundreds of thousands in a couple of decades, made up in almost equal thirds of rural Welsh, English (mainly West Country) and Irish. I expect there was the odd conflict or two in the early years…

  21. You pronounce your own death sentence Theo.

With your gang of BluLabour trash on the job certainly none of the above would fly. But with the exception of breaking contract law re the SCS offal ( and something could certainly be arranged–sack the fucking lot for gross misconduct: its true in spirit if not in the letter of law). None of the above is beyond the power of the law.Nor requires any Pinochet–just balls The obedience of your rabble would be insured by invoking the Civil Contingences Act. Another piece of tyrannical shite your gang couldn’t stop in opposition and didn’t repeal in power. With that and disloyalty to the govt being treated as T&S what is needed could be forced thro.

Your crew don’t have what it takes. Even to give themselves and the rest of us a fighting chance by ditching the FFC. So don’t come it with anymore of your UKIP=rabble tripe. It is your shower of shite that is hellbent on handing the UK over to Corbin and McNasty.

And if they get in types like you will fucking reel at what will happen next.

Maybe you shouldn’t have had those daughters Theo. Cos you wont like to see what happens to them and any kids they have in the world BluLabour are sleepwalking themselves and the rest of us into. Full on socialism will feed your bollocks into a bucket of crabs without worrying about what elected govts can and cant do.

  22. The Ontario teachers union voted that they opposed schools being named after the first Canadian PM and they should be renamed because of his association with residential schools.
An MP who is also First Nations spoke up and said you can’t measjre everything g by modern standards and you can’t overlook the historical significance of his role just because we don’t agree with everything he did

  23. “Students need to be taught to critically analyse these events”

Is “critically analyse” one of those things like “democracy”, where it’s only “real” if we come to the conclusion that the Guardian wants us to?

  24. My point, Ecksy, is that very few of your spittle-flecked proposals would fly under any democratic government in the UK. You are deluding yourself if you think otherwise.

You proclaim a set of fantasy policies, and then blame the Tories for not doing what you want, because, as a fearless keyboard warrior and renowned political analyst, you know best. As Tim Newman pointed out on his blog recently, we get the government we largely deserve. And, unfortunately, it seems most people in the UK want soggy, leftish policies – the NHS and lots of handouts.

As for Corbyn, your claim that the Tories are “hellbent” on handing him the next election is just silly. Besides, not so long ago you were claiming that anyone who thought Corbyn would win the next election was spineless and defeatist….

May is useless, but there’s no alternative at present. (I have consistently said here that she’s not PM material.) She’s at least better than Nicky Morgan or Andrea Leadsom would be.

However poor her performance, May is doing better than the badger strangler, whose rabble may well unseat him soon.

  25. “If they are to demand ….”

And that’s where you need to stop reading. Didn’t any of these idiots get clipped around the ear and told “I want doesn’t get”.

  26. “Growing up as a person of colour, ”

No you didn’t, you grew up British where adjectives go ****BEFORE***** the noun.

  27. “You proclaim a set of fantasy policies”

Any policy that can’t be put in place is fantasy Theo. So what. And under the Bitch all your fucking policies are already fantasy. Great Northern Forest anyone?

, “and then blame the Tories for not doing what you want, because, as a fearless keyboard warrior and renowned political analyst, you know best.”

And my ideas are worse than what we have Theo? And worse than what we are likely to get if the FFC hands it to ZaNu?

“As Tim Newman pointed out on his blog recently, we get the government we largely deserve.”

And that is your excuse for paying money to those who laugh in your face?

” And, unfortunately, it seems most people in the UK want soggy, leftish policies – the NHS and lots of handouts.”

Those unfortunate wishes could still be catered to in the short term Theo. Even while the hard left is hacked to pieces as I suggest. Indeed keeping the NHS and some handouts is the key. With those still in place most folk won’t care about the hard left being hacked to pieces. I ‘ve said before a long period of time would be required to reverse and replace the sacred cows of benefits and the NHS. But we have no time now that all the worse line-up of leftscum in UK history are in place, sense blood and are actually more competent at propaganda than your shower of shite. Assisted by your idiots –as that is what it amounts to–they can win and pose an absolutely fatal threat to the UK.

“As for Corbyn, your claim that the Tories are “hellbent” on handing him the next election is just silly.
” Besides, not so long ago you were claiming that anyone who thought Corbyn would win the next election was spineless and defeatist….”

That was after June 8th when I thought the useless minge would be out on her fat arse in a fortnight and your pet circle-jerk might shape up after the shock. Now that it seems that they are such low and cowardly scum that they intend to go into their final election ever with the worthless bitch not only as ..pardon me …”leader” but “armed” with a set of shite policies that make the cones hotline look like wisdom if not fucking genius. God Almighty himself would be hard-pressed to remain optimistic in the face of such sheer naked stupidity and moral cowardice. If that Cunt leads them in they will lose.

“However poor her performance, May is doing better than the badger strangler, whose rabble may well unseat him soon.”

Any leader worth shit would wipe their backside with Corbin. It isn’t that ZaNu are just keeping up with worst Tory ever. It is that BluLab can’t –easily- see off a gang of vile Marxian shite who are living disgraces to the human race. The inhabitants of a mental hospital should be able to see off Corbin and his gang.

Keep on being smug and complacent Theo. One of the few pleasures left if Corbog wins is knowing that super smugsters like you have so much more to lose than I do.

  28. It;s just a fact Mr Ecks- what you would like to happen is not possible in Britain because the vast majority of people living here would not support it, and there are no people in politics who would wish or be able to make it happen. It is simply a non-starter.

There is no political solution. Regurgitating a Sean Gabb style fantasy on a regular basis doesn’t help at all in practical terms.

Accepting this reality does not mean that you need to like the current situation or that there is nothing you can do to work against it. But you do need to think outside the box a bit.

  29. I appreciate Mr Ecks.

“Regurgitating a Sean Gabb style fantasy on a regular basis doesn’t help at all in practical terms.”

I disagree. It is good to remember what would have been done 50 years ago.

  30. “It;s just a fact Mr Ecks- what you would like to happen is not possible in Britain because the vast majority of people living here would not support it,”

Its true that a blank attempt to abolish the precious NHS would not fly. Or massive benefit cuts etc.

Abolishing the BBC is another story however. No one is going to take part in some mass outcry/ streetbrawl to save that shower. Esp if we had a leader who would go on TV and honestly say why it was being done–ie “You are being forced to pay £145 a year to sub Marxist propaganda”.

Like wise taking the vote off all followers of the RoP forever and all migrants since 1997 (with all such migrants and the few that might arrive in future having to wait 100 years to get a vote) would be a wildly popular policy . And one that would make clear to folk where and with who exists their last chance for a stable happy country and decent future.

If it is really all over Tomsmith why waste your time whinging on here? Go away and look for some hole to hide in or get your bottle of pills or whatever ready.

  31. I’ll believe these guys are in good faith the day they advocate putting leg weights on Black Guys in the 100m sprint or the marathon. You know, to make it fairer, more equal.

  32. Mr Ecks: “Esp if we had a leader who would go on TV and honestly say why it was being done–ie “You are being forced to pay £145 a year to sub Marxist propaganda”“

Any leader that showed the slightest hint of that kind of talk would be ripped to bits by the media and dumped by the people. The British electorate have shown again and again that they vote strongly for non-extremism, being told what to do and how to live, perceived safety and the middle road, not for radical or individualist politics of any kind. The British electorate is extremely conservative in relation to change, and extremely left biased in relation to policy; socialism having been the status quo for as long as almost anyone can remember.

“Like wise taking the vote off all followers of the RoP forever and all migrants since 1997 (with all such migrants and the few that might arrive in future having to wait 100 years to get a vote) would be a wildly popular policy”

If you think this would fly with the British public, then you are living in cloud cuckoo land.

The other really very important thing that you forget in terms of your two proposed policies above is that you would need a large number of people ibelieving this way in parliament in order to carry them out (or a military coup), and that is never ever going to happen, which is the main reason it is a total fantasy.

“f it is really all over Tomsmith why waste your time whinging on here? Go away and look for some hole to hide in or get your bottle of pills or whatever ready.”

I didn’t say it is all over (in fact I said the opposite). What I did say is that there is no political solution. Which is obviously true.

I guess it is dispair that makes you trot out this political solution fantasy over and over, as if the reality we live in can be changed. You need to get over your despair and think outside the box like I said.

  33. So –since you say that there is hope but don’t specify –some kind of what–insurrection? civil war?.

It may come to that. But if–as you say– the UK population have no stomach for taking back power off the marxscum now in place then they certainly have no stomach for an actual fight to the death.

As far as I can see you have nothing Tomsmith. Except defeatism.

“If you think this would fly with the British public, then you are living in cloud cuckoo land. ”

The above is one of the most fatuous statements I’ve read on the blog ever. That most in this country don’t see what is being done to themselves and their children and won’t understand why the above is essential?

  34. Mr Ecks: “So –since you say that there is hope but don’t specify –some kind of what–insurrection? civil war?”

I said there is no political solution, not that there is no hope. Your next logical step is civil war? Lol, good luck. Personally I think much too late for that as well.

Look, you have a controlled political system and a bovine populace who are used to this shit, want more of it, and can be induced to vote for pretty much anything given enough persuading, bribing and/or threatening. See what happens with the brexit vote for example; it is a political work in progress.

It is complete fantasy to imagine a political party you support sweeping to power and actually following through on all of the stuff you would like to happen. Those guys do not exist in British politics. You don’t have time to wait for them to be born, grow up, dodge every obstacle, and finally enter politics in large enough numbers to make something happen.

If any appear then they will be stopped. The ones you think might be it, like UKIP, or any of their smaller clones, are blatantly controlled opposition.

You need to think practical, small scale things you can actually achieve. This is not defeatism, it is reality.

“As far as I can see you have nothing Tomsmith. Except defeatism.”

You just lack imagination I am sorry to say. Look, a large number of people you talk to on the internet or elsewhere about these topics are people tptb have put there to notice people like you. Look at the powers the govt is putting in place. Do you really think these are aimed at Islamic terrorists? They are aimed at you, Ecks.
