  1. What’s the difference between a stopped clock and Ritchie?

A stopped clock is right twice a day.

    Also, he’s an unstopped cock.

  2. Talking of the Greens, I’m still awaiting them stepping forward and supporting, volubly, M. Macron’s carbon tax increases in the price of the evil, nano-particle, polluting diesel fuel.

But of course that might be dangerous, vote-getting-wise….

  3. It’s just a long game version of the standard EU re-run the referendum tactics, they are just chucking in a useless deal to make it look better

  4. 1) It can’t be the SNP because it hired Murphy but haven’t sent him a cheque lately.
    2) It can’t be the Green Party because it hired Murphy but nothing of late.
    3) It can’t be the Labour Party because it fired Murphy
    4) It can’t be the Conservative Party because Cameron made jokes about Murphy’s book.
    5) It can’t be The City University because it got rid of him.
    5) It must be the Murphy Party because he is in unanimous agreement with it.

  5. Er, sorry, bit slow nowadays.

How, exactly, do you say no?

Of course, this being Spud, my ignorance probably proves I’m not as stupid as he is. Which probably applies to anyone being taught by him.

  6. “5) It must be the Murphy Party because he is in unanimous agreement with it.”

Nope, he’s proved he can fall out with a party of him, as the the great Professor Murphy Richards @MurphyCandidTax has picked up from his parodist’s blog:

“CBCR is an accounting standard, not a tax standard. And a tax standard, not an accounting standard. Depending on the point I am trying to make.”

  7. It can’t be The City University because it got rid of him.

Alas, not yet. I think the EU grant paying for it runs out next year.

Brexit – the gift that keeps on giving!

  8. The great Diogenes has it

His choice for PM, Caroline Lucas, achieves the unique distinction of actually being worse than May or Corbin. As another legend on these pages, Steve points out, the Greens are actually genuinely a ‘nasty party’, utterly misanthropic and committed to the reduction of the population by 33% by any means necessary.

They do say of course that evil associates with evil so in that sense they are a logical choice for Murphy.

  9. If Caroline Lucas is his only hope then I think we have passed peak Ritchie!

While the thought of Ritchie on the dole is an appealing one sadly I think he is enough of a useful idiot to the EU for them to find a way of continuing to fund him. Will be interesting to see where he ends up.

  10. Van_Patten, presumably Murphy wants a say in which 33%? I can just see him defining tax avoidance as a criterion for Green culling.
