  1. Legal analyst? Yeah, right. She says her mistake is someone else’s fault. But how could anyone, in this day and age, tell her Webb was black?

People like her have made it illegal, in the court of twitterati, to identify someone by their colour, which is deemed irrelevant, unless you are white, in which case you have got to admit your “white privilege”. Thus it is illegal to say, the defendant allegedly stole a car radio, he must be black, but just fine to say, Dat man he hadda de white privilege.

And note they are calling black people “black” rather then the twitterati’s only acceptable “people of colour”. Shit bro, if de people of colour ain’t obeyin da rules, how is we meant to?

  2. By far the most interesting aspect of this incident was the fact that Martin invoked “white privilege” in the first place, irrespective of Webb’s race. If you go and look at the clip of the incident, or read the transcript, what you find is that Webb is putting forth an argument that Martin simply has no answer for. Without a rational, intelligent response available, Martin brandishes “white privilege” in hopes of ending the discussion as it then stood. Martin never believed Webb was exhibiting White Privilege; what she was doing was trying to end a discussion that she couldn’t cope with (either intellectually or emotionally).

Bottom line? If Martin had known Webb was black she simply would have accused him of being an Uncle Tom.

This is the sort of thing progressives do… Disagree with them and you’re Racist or Homophobic or Islamophobic or exhibiting Toxic Masculinity. And the reason? They don’t have a rational, intelligent response to anything.

  3. To the best of my recollection, this kind of thing has now been going for between 30 and 40 years.

I tend to assume there is a curve to describe historical phenomena, where they grown, peak, decline and so on. It’s what keeps me almost hopeful.

And I’ve long wondered when we’ll be on the downward slope.

  4. “Without a rational, intelligent response available, Martin brandishes “white privilege” in hopes of ending the discussion as it then stood.”

That was my impression, too. She had no response, so she started this blackface “white privilege” schtick. She looked stupid even before Webb interrupted her. Frankly, I was hoping he wouldn’t say anything, and let her go on with her bad argument.

“When your opponent is committing suicide, stay out of their way.”

  5. Kryten: At 0700 hours tomorrow morning my shutdown disk will be activated and all mental and physical operations will cease.

    Lister: Then what?

Kryten: I don’t know, maybe I’ll get a job as disk jockey.

These days, it seems there is little difference between the DJ’s and anyone else on the airwaves…

  6. “But how could anyone, in this day and age, tell her Webb was black?”

A classic example being boxing commentary on TV.

“Anthony Joshua is the one in the white trunks with a red stripe with a diamond pattern, Wladimir Klitschko is in the white trunks with a red stripe also with a diamond pattern but the diamonds are a bit larger”

  7. I’m going to guess that it was Webb’s accent. Sounds quite distinctive to me anyway. He says in the clip that he hails from Boston. So perhaps Areva was drawing from the quite prevalent stereotypical bostonian as a mikeymike type irish american.

  8. “They don’t have a rational, intelligent response to anything.”

You would think any TV host worth the name would have called her out on it, but they are all thick Progressives too.
