Why not try reading something other than the Guardian?

The same goes for the democratic emergency. Almost everywhere trust in governments, parliaments and elections is collapsing. Shared civic life is replaced by closed social circles that receive entirely different, often false, information. The widespread sense that politics has become so corrupted that it can no longer respond to ordinary people’s needs has provoked a demagogic backlash that in some countries begins to slide into fascism. But despite years of revelations about hidden spending, fake news, front groups and micro-targeted ads on social media, almost nothing has changed.

There are other newspapers, some of which even print some of the truth.

  1. No longer trusting liberal elites (with very good reason) = sliding into fascism.

Even in a fucking article dedicated to the problem, they still don’t get what the problem is.

  2. “The widespread sense that politics has become so corrupted that it can no longer respond to ordinary people’s needs has provoked a demagogic backlash that in some countries begins to slide into fascism.”

Well, yes. That’s what happens. You get a Conservative Party saying they’ll deliver Brexit and fail to do so, people will go for a more serious pro-Brexiteer (e.g. Farage). If he fails, they’ll vote for the BNP to deliver the job.

Mainstream political parties in both the USA and the UK have lied to the voters for years about their aims in all sorts of ways. Does anyone out there trust either main party on immigration? That they won’t be trying to bring in more, one way or another? That if the stats show they’re hitting target, you can presume they’re gaming the stats (hello 11 month visas).

As Robert Putnam demonstrated, ethnic and cultural diversity destroys both interpersonal trust and trust.in civic institutions.

Also, as demonstrated by almost the entirety of Human history, Diversity+Proximity=War.

The ‘Corbinite surge’ looks to have been funded almost entirely from a combination of Iran, Russia and North Korea – quite how this would be an improvement on ‘dark private money’ is a mystery. Additionally is money sanctified by iut being provided by the state – the conceit is astounding….

  5. Some of the gripes this tosser come out with testthe limits of one’s patience:
“The way Facebook presents the data makes it impossible to determine spending trends, unless you check the entries every week.”
Well, then check the entries every week, you lazy cvnt. You’re supposed to a be journalist. Then journalise. Don’t expect other people to do your work for you. If it was that easy, why would the world need journalists?

    “We lost.”

‘Shared civic life is replaced by closed social circles that receive entirely different, often false, information.’

The opposition has formed groups. You have lost your monopoly on the minds of the people.

‘The widespread sense that politics has become so corrupted that it can no longer respond to ordinary people’s needs’

Excellent! Governments don’t exist to ‘respond to ordinary people’s needs.’ The corruption of government is finally waning.

‘has provoked a demagogic backlash that in some countries begins to slide into fascism.’

Godwin’s law. “Anyone against me is Hitler.”

‘But despite years of revelations about hidden spending, fake news, front groups and micro-targeted ads on social media, almost nothing has changed.’

The corruption of the Left drives on.

    Moonbat is a cry bully.

  7. The language he uses in paragraph after paragraph damning the two Leave group’s funding compared to the matter-of-fact language used in the single paragraph about two Remain groups doing the same shows he’s projecting.

I’d call him a vile cunt but I think Monbiot is simply thick as pigshit. At least he’s not wailing about sheep for once.

No one listens to me and my claims of a meat famine and how chlorine-washed chicken is the devil’s feces.

No, we don’t you ginger c@nt, you c@nt, you f@cktard, you posh boy f@cker, you son a whore, we don’t listen to you, you halfwit, so f@ck off.
