  1. It may be that voice recognition software struggles to identify splutterings through a ball gag.

  2. We’ve experimented with voice assisted translations for our acclaimed “Tax Murph’s Ass” series. Strangely, the results are similar to those transcribed in your post. Are you watching porn today, Tim?

  3. Voice recognition doesn’t put an 8 in place of an i. That’s simply dumb ass fat fingers and not bothering to read what you just wrote.

  4. Andrew,

I write a lot of shit, especially when hammered*… I still attempt to check it before I post.

    What’s Murph’s excuse?

*just home after drinking 5 pints of cider outside in 35 degrees. Cut but not hammered.

  5. Here’s the thing from my perspective. I’m not a ‘professional’ like Murphy claims to be. I’m just some manager at my company’s China thing.

I still check and double check absolutely everything I put in writing at work and that habit carries over into everything.

Someone like Murphy, a professional accountant with dreams of greatness should be checking and double checking everything they put down in writing.

That said, I’ve written here before about how my faith in professionals has been destroyed since I was a young lad just starting out.

  6. I prefer m’ learned friend’s version but the reality is that his fists were jabbing even more to the left than they usually do (if that’s possible).

  7. Probably just left handed typing.

Murphy is enraptured by his holiday running around Wales on steam trains at the moment. Right hand might be otherwise occupied as the steam rises, so to speak.

Apologies to those of a sensitive disposition

STEAM TRAINS? Fuelled by coal? Think of all the carbon belching into the atmosphere, destroying the planet, just so that he can amuse himself.

One rule for him, another for the rest of us.

  9. O/T – but I noted today that the Times has gone Peterborough crazy now TBP has lost the election. Silence before.

Ah Rob, one of his commentators has a final solution for that:

maybe if we could wind the global population back down to around the 1 billion mark again we could justify using steam locomotion again,

  11. maybe if we could wind the global population back down to around the 1 billion mark again

This might resonate for a Dachau tourist from Ely.

  12. The post has the usual mixture of self- delusion and rampant hubris. He is convinced that ‘The Green New Deal’ is the only way of averting planetary extinction and justifies himself on that basis. Given his understanding of basic accountancy and economics for him to position himself as a scientific authority would be humorous under normal circumstances but now is just pitiful.

  13. Ritchie has deleted my comment asking about the carbon emissions of his favourite steam trains. What a surprise!
