  1. Don’t they get the duty of educating themselves out of the way while still at school like ordinary people?

  2. I have regularly been appalled by the witterings of government ministers who clearly have no knowledge whatsoever about the thing that they are minister of. A couple of years ago we had an energy minister who thought that the problem of intermittent output from wind turbines was solved because we have STOR. This isn’t anything to do with storing energy it stands for short term operating reserve, emergency diesel generators that can also be used to prop up the grid at times of high demand.

  3. Richard Murphy is self-educated in economics, and has proudly proclaimed the fact numerous times.

    How’d that work out?

  4. I don’t think that I got any more than the most basic education from school. The vast majority of what I know is stuff that I learned after I left. I’ve never stopped learning.

  5. Stonyground – you likely had a babysitting service like many do. So little of what I was taught in school has any relevance outside. Reading, arithmetic. Not even writing these days.
