We know the solution here

Child sex abuse victims are being retraumatised by fighting a “futile” battle for compensation, government-ordered inquiry has found.

The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) published its report on the Accountability and Reparations strand of its wide-ranging investigations on Thursday.

The researchers concluded that survivors are often retraumatised during what can prove to be a “frustrating, hostile and ultimately futile” legal battle for justice through the courts.

Just give the cash to anyone who claims.

What? You want to retraumatise them? And of course no one would claim without there being merit to the claim, would they?

Just don’t mention Nick….

  1. One of the places where I diverge form my ( new) progressive friends, is the attack on basic legal principles .Coaching a jury on the definition of consent for examples , accepting ” said” as proof and ,as in this case, accepting the accusers profession of their sense of grief as relevant
I have wondered if the increasing domination of the old professions by women is part of the story .

At this rate we will soon all be sitting around forming large super pregnant earth dolls from clay and , rather than examining the content s of the material simply forming it into the pleasing and easy shape that fits our needs…

( I need hardly say that Brexit is the political expression of this regression to the feminine principle of empathy over understanding )

  2. So you can elucidate the advantages of the UK remaining in the EU, Newmania. Strange you’ve never done so. All we’ve had is a display of emotion against leaving. Your female side, one presumes.

  3. It’s your attack on basic writing principles that gets my goat, Newmania.

A member of MrsBud’s family has had a payout with respect to Jimmy Saville, I don’t think he’d miss an opportunity like this. It would end up that not a day of his childhood would have passed without him being abused. He used some of his Jimmy money to fly to Australia, thankfully we have always kept our address a secret from him.

  4. Newmania: “I have wondered if the increasing domination of the old professions by women is part of the story .”

Hey, look! It’s true, a blind squirrel DOES find an acorn every now and then!

  5. What’s the principle behind having the government pay criminal compensation to victims of crime? Is it analogous to NHS cock-ups – the justice system screwed up, therefore the victim gets compo? Perhaps a fine should be levied directly on the copper / prosecutor / judge / parole board member who failed in their duty, in order to concentrate minds.

  6. You don’t have any friends Facepaint. Just globo elite vultures who are patiently waiting out the countdown until they can turn on arrogant and stupid middle class traitors & losers like you.

Entitled and egotistical mug shite like you think you are part of the “elite”. But the globos are an exclusive club and you are just more wretched little parvenu oiks as far as they are concerned. Their plan is that anyone not in their club is going to be flopped lower than whale shit using eco-cockrot as the excuse. And that includes you and your rugby-dross offspring Face. However clever and special you fancy yourselves. For a while longer you will still be able to afford booze and cars while the poorest are priced out. But that won’t last. Once your EU dick-sucking usefulness has ended the Globos will move to destroy you and yours also. It serves you right but the rest of us will have to stop their game before they get around to scum like you–not for your worthless sake but for our own.

As for “victims” of abuse–why the fuck should they get ANY compo from the taxpayer. It is just victimology shite. I’m sorry they had a rough break. Bit life is full of bad shite–which is mostly uncompensated.

    Independent from what?

‘Child sex abuse victims are being retraumatised’

No true Scotsman fallacy. We prosecute people for child sex abuse because children are too young to decide for themselves. Few are ‘traumatized.’ Pedophiles are strangely interested in sex with children, not traumatizing them. I would speculate that any traumatization comes from the parents when they find out, not the perp.

Ipso facto, casting this as ‘retraumatizing’ is an argumentum ad passiones. A competent editor would pull Ms Swerling aside and tell her her article is junk.

Ah, but Swerling IS an editor (!): ‘Social and Religious Affairs Editor.’

    That is the Telegraph today.

  8. You don’t have any friends Facepaint.

Au contraire ..I am the centre of a glittering salon of beautiful people .You are welcome to press your cold little nose against the window on any frosty eve.

Not quite sure I’m buying that one, old Gamecock. Sure, I can’t imagine that mum and dad are particularly happy to find that uncle Billy has being playing doctor with their kiddy, but I’m still going to go with the kiddy being more traumatised by it.

That whole thing about girls trying to make themselves fat, ugly and malodorous to keep try and disinterest uncle Billy is not just a meme you know. Childhood trauma continues to fuck us up as adults.

Your ignorance of it is not an excuse.

  10. Facepaint–Yeah -sure you are –Santa and his elves have you on their Christmas card list.

But not this year Face–I hear they are too busy to give your usual Xmas Traitor’s Shout-Out–they are too busy trying to source glass eyes for the poor bastards who’ve had one blown by your EU scum hero Macron and his costumed thugs.

  11. “. . . fighting a “futile” battle for compensation”

Is it ‘compensation’ – which would come from the attacker – or is it another welfare payment from the government?

  12. @Andrew M September 20, 2019 at 9:40 am

During Op Banner “The Troubles” Gov’t paid for terrorist damage – bombs, fires etc.

Reason: Insurance doesn’t cover war & terrorism because Gov’t decides on war and is obliged to prevent terrorism.

iirc Gov’t also pays for riot losses as Gov’t failed to upheld law & order.

  13. Pcar,

That’s also the same reason we have the criminal injuries board. We give up,our guns and they’re supposed to protect us.

Well, that the excuse, we have to give up our guns so they can feel safe in their beds.

  14. I feel sorry for you, Mr. Galt, that you never knew a horny 14 year old girl. I knew some. Didn’t touch them, cause I was a teenager, too.

There are hundreds of thousands of teenage pregnancies in the U.S. every year, many of which would be statutory rape. They were NOT TRAUMATIZED. They wanted it. They enjoyed it.

All sex with underage girls is NOT forcible.

  15. I feel sorry for you, Mr. Galt, that you never knew a horny 14 year old girl. I knew some. Didn’t touch them, cause I was a teenager, too.

You’re failing on the assumption that I’m straight. Equally, as a 14 year old kid, I had plenty of sexually accessible other 14 year old kids, but that’s rather missing the point which is not about teenagers having sex with each other, but rather about kids being preyed on by adults, which is the problem.
