I fear that Andrew Pierce may notbe all that well connected:
It has a simple philosophy: it argues there is a strong moral case for allowing taxpayers to keep a greater share of their income. Who can disagree with that?
He\’s obviously not met Polly Toynbee.
I want to know what the moral case is for fining taxpayers for working?
“I want to know what the moral case is for fining taxpayers for working?”
You wait until the “income shifting” proposals become law. You’ll be fined for not working enough – the first time that the tax authorities will deem what you should be earning and then treating anything less as tax avoidance to be punished.
The next step will be targeting those who are “downshifting” and depriving the treasury of revenue.
