  1. Death in childbirth, Diphtheria, Typhoid, TB, Typhus, Cholera, Rickets, Scurvy, Smallpox, Bubonic Plague, Pneumonia, Bronchitis, Dysentery, Scabies, and Malnutrition.

    No wonder they never worried about Cancer, they never lived long enough to encounter it. I don’t suppose they were much concerned about bad hair days, baldness, or bunions either.

  2. Not to mention whooping cough, polio, measles, tetanus, tonsillitis, botulism, appendicitis, and, sometimes, just plain cold.
