An old joke, I know

The figure of 9.8 days means that staff in town halls, health services, schools and other government-funded bodies took about 35 per cent more time off than employees in private companies, who each missed about seven days.

But if working in the public sector has such an appalling effect upon the health of those who do it then it is our duty, as a caring and sharing society, to minimise the number of people exposed to such horrific working conditions.

Thus we must slash the number of public sector workers.

  1. For fairness we should redistribute illnesses from the disease-rich public sector to the disease-poor private sector.
