The Government has a crucial role in ensuring that the economy has as soft a landing as possible. Sensibly, ministers are canvassing experts from a range of firms to help form policy – now they must have the sense to listen to economic rather than political solutions.

Eh? We going to teach the cat to play fetch now, are we?

Politicians are interested in political solutions because they are politicians. They\’ll do whatever it is that they think will get them re-elected, that will appease some power base.

Any connection between what they do and an economic solution is entirely coincidental.

Given the economic foolishness of the population at large, this applies to all and any politicians, not just the present parade of pompadours.

Come along now Mittens, bring that stick back to me, will you?

As Adam Smith should have said:

“People of the same trade” and government ” seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public…”
