On the return of Arthur Scargill.

  1. Arthur Scargill is the main reason we no longer have a British coalmining industry. He was so bloody poisonous, that all of our coalfields were written off to spite him. He was a great big steaming pile of mouth and nowt else, and the miners who followed him have had many years to ponder their mistake.

Just after that strike I think it was, I was on a cruise liner, Far East, Honkers or Singapore, and one of the other passengers, a well-off bloke from Yorkshire, was getting a lot of unwanted press attention. It was because his smart executive house was up for sale- and one A Scargill was buying it.
