The UK is the most eeeevilest place ever in the whole wide universe to be a child.
The research carried out at the University of York for the Child Poverty Action Group, echoed a report two years ago from UNICEF that put British children at the wrong end of a list of the 21 most advanced countries.
There\’s a reason for that echo. The UNICEF report was written by one Professor Jonathan Bradshaw of York University.
The CPAG report is based upon the work of one Professor Jonathan Bradshaw of York University.
This briefing is a summary of J Bradshaw and D Richardson, ‘An index of child
wellbeing in Europe’, to be published in Child Indicators Research (April 2009).
It\’s essentially a dust off of the same report, based upon the same data, by the same person.
Or, perhaps, a refelection of the same person\’s prejudices, that Britain is the most eeeevilest place ever.
Your choice what you believe.
“The research carried out at the University of York for the Child Poverty Action Group..”: some people assume that people who sponsor research get exactly what they pay for – or do they believe that only if the sponsors are Big Oil/Big Pharma/Big Tobacco?
I understand that Professor Bradshaw is the elder brother of Government minister (and former absolutely impartial BBC journalist) Ben Bradshaw.
We must take action!
Stopping the government paying people to have children should be his first priority…
What do people from other parties of the EU come here and have children here? They must all be mad or evil.
Or the report could be rubbish.
Oooh! ooh! Can I spot a fake charity?
CPAG must be in there somewhere.
Oooh! ooh! Can I spot a fake charity?
Well, here’s their accounts at the Charity Commission.
Can anyone establish their “fake charity” credentials from the details there? I would try but, drink having been taken, can’t make any sense of it.
It appears that in 2008 around £500,000 out of a total income of approx. £2.2m came from HM Treasury and the Scottish parliament.
That’s an easy spending cut.
They’re all fakes.
