Ooooh, get her!

But he’s not alone in seeking to influence the UK from the far right whilst living far away. Note that the Wikipedia entry for Tim Worstall says:

Since September 2007, Worstall has been the press officer for the UK Independence Party.

He lives in Portugal with his wife.

I guess that’s one form of independence from the UK, Rather odd though that Worstall only has the right to live in Portugal becasue the UK is a member of the EU.

What is it about the Euro-hating tax bashers that makes them want to live in the EU? Could it be that they’re just a bunch of hypocrites after all? Surely not?

So says Ritchie.

A few minor points. I am not the press officer for UKIP. I was….and for the time that I was I was of course working in London.

I\’ve also lived in Russia (note, not a member of the EU) and I\’ve lived in the US (not a member of the EU). So the idea that you can only live in a country that is not the UK as a result of the EU seems to be, well, less than fully true.

As, for example, the existence of the Fabrica do Ingles in the next town down the road from me might indicate. As, indeed, some other familiar names from the supermarket shelves might indicate, the English have been living in Portugal since well before the EU was even a gleam in anyone\’s eye.

But let\’s take this point seriously for a moment, shall we? \”But he’s not alone in seeking to influence the UK …. whilst living far away.\”

  1. It is my fond hope that I can encounter Murphy in each of the countries listed above and kick him squarely in the balls. Supercilious piss-stain.

  2. “Rather odd though that Worstall only has the right to live in Portugal becasue the UK is a member of the EU.”

As if prior to the establishment of the EU no-one had ever lived in a country that wasn’t their country of birth.

  3. The left believe that the ends (keeping the Tories out of office) justify the means (lies and libel). They are scum.

  4. It takes a sort of genius to illustrate a post about the English in Portugal by using a Scottish Port House.

  5. Is not your right to live in Portugal underpinned by the requirement that you are of the means to support yourself and your family, rather than ponce off the Portuguese State. And is this not the same requirement that existed prior to Portugal joining the EU.

And Dickie accusing others of hypocrisy. This is a man, along with others such as Prem Sikka, who routinely bitch about the accountancy profession, but at no point do they acknowledge they both belong to the profession and are included in the stats they cite. Membership is not compulsory and members are free to relinquish their membership at any time of their choosing. I might, at a push, find a modicum of respect for Murphy if he resigned his membership.

The only reason Our Dickie criticizes the profession of accountancy is because the leaders of that profession have no interest in humoring him in is odd, semi-informed obsessions. In my reading of Murphy it has become quite clear that he never got over the fact that the Big Eight firm he trained at did not offer him a full-time job upon graduation. Dickie’s positions on all matters are the product of intensely personal prejudices, rather than any sort of objective analysis.

  7. Has no-one noticed the “far right” slur? What does it mean? Antisemitic, racist, anti-immigrant, might-is-right totalitarianism? Tim?

And I didn’t notice the WGCE mandatory descriptor used. Come on people!
