Steven Levitt has done an excellent paper about the economics of prostitution. It\’s included in the upcoming SuperFreakonomics. One conclusion is:
….having a pimp in Chicago actually boosts a prostitute’s earnings.
And we\’re just passing a law to make it illegal to have sex with a prostitute who has a pimp.
Why?
Because we’re a bunch of interfering, half-witted, fascist cretins.
