Around 2,000 passengers were trapped in the Channel Tunnel overnight as four Eurostar trains broke down amid freezing temperatures that have brought travel chaos to Britain.
Is this too much of it ot not enough?

Similarly, I got a tax rebate the other day and yet people go on about the government raising taxes too much!
Global warming?
It’s snowing in the Dordogne this morning – we never get snow…..
What a shame the UK delegates to the Copenhagen Conference were not on the train.
Aha! It’s getting cold. Quick: change from Global Warming to Climate Change!
Oddly I find it starts getting cold around now most years, but then I’m a nasty denialist; what would I know about it?
You know.. I have given this some thought. IF they where serous about this, instead of CAP and TRADE, it would JUST BE CAP!!! sorry about the caps… Anyways, Merry Christmas!
@Anna Raccoon: It’s snowing in the Dordogne…
That’s nothing. I just had an email from my neice who lives in Dubai, and it was hailing yesterday!!!

As anyone seeking funding in regards to ‘climate change’ would tell you, the answer is an emphatic, “BOTH!”
It’s just a weather system from Arctic Siberia. We usually get this once every winter. Nasty, nippy, bit generally short lived.
The Eurostar breakdown though, is worrying. The systems ought to be robust enough to withstand this easily. And the response to the situation of those passengers was wholly inadequate.
Can someone explain why a train suddenly going from cold to hot weather would break down, especially as these are electric?
Tim adds: My guess is (and it’s very much a guess) about humidity rather than temperature directly.
“Tim adds: My guess is (and it’s very much a guess) about humidity rather than temperature directly.”
Well both as I understand it.
Train v cold indeed having been through northern France at ~200mph in properly subzero conditions suddenly launches into tunnel with high humidity at 25C. Massive condensation apparently.
Still a bit odd though…
but who killed The MEP…
during the 90s I remember snow in one year in hemel.
Since 2003, it has snowed in 3 years.
The world must be getting warmer.
