The Taxpayers\’ Alliance is the latest in a series of right-leaning campaign groups to come under the scrutiny of charity regulators. Civitas, Policy Exchange and the Reform Research Trust were all the subject of inquiries last year.
Can\’t see anything political in this targetting at all.
I thought the Taxpayer’s Alliance represented all political sides?
Meanwhile left leaning charities get to spend taxpayers cash.
I notice they don’t mention the Smith Institute and the Charity Commission investigations one G Fawkes of this parish managed to instigate.
That can’t have anything to do with the fact it’s the Dear Leader’s favourite slush fund … oops, sorry … charitable think tank, can it.
You might think that. We couldn’t possibly comment… 😉
Bring it on.
Sauce for the goose….
The clue was at the top: “…the latest in a series of right-leaning campaign groups to come under the scrutiny…”
It would have been illogical to list left-leaning groups amongst the culprits. Thus the Smith Institute gets off Scott Trust free.
As a lefty liberal, I welcome all groups and their ideas. When they do genuine research, I support public funding for specific programmes. I despise reliance on public funds.
