Umm, Harriet?

The Leader of the House of Commons …..spent more than £300 of public money a month on a professional “media monitoring” service to supply stories about her from newspapers.

Ever heard of Google News? Google Alerts?

As to the very local papers, surely your constituency office subscribes to htem all?

  1. She is not the only one. I have a particualr ‘anon’ commentator, always with the same e-mail adress who appears on my blog within minutes of me mentioning Vera Baird’s name, always with a stout defence of her.
Too soon for Google, it has to be a media monitoring service.
Since dear Vera once commented on my blog, I have the advantage of knowing her House of Parlaiment IP address, and note with interest that that IP address calls in with monotonous regularity.
    They are fascinated by themselves….

  2. A couple of questions:

First: Does the media monitoring service in question have any connections to children, idiot third cousins or other unemployable relatives of Harman?

Secondly: Does Hattie’s service do more than just supply information or does it also supply an “auto-rebuttal” serviceas Ms Raccoon seems to describe? If it does, is this within the rules?

  3. She claimed £132 for a Fuji Finepix J10 plus a 1 Gb card. ‘Charlotte Montague purchased the camera as it was on special offer’

    That’s £88.97 + £5.42 from Amazon.

    Still. Not her money.
