Important news flash!

In a new study, European researchers found obese women had more trouble finding a sexual partner than their normal-weight counterparts

Film at 11.

This also amused:

\’\’Maybe women are more tolerant of tubby husbands than men are of tubby wives,\’\’ said Kaye Wellings, a professor of sexual and reproductive health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and one of the BMJ study authors.

Only a professor would put that \”maybe\” in there.

  1. Women value integrity, earnings and physical protection more than looks. Men seek looks as their guide to genetic fitness, women seek mental/physical fitness.

Together, I suspect they turned us from lumpy hairy vaguely differentiated animals to the creatures we are today.

  2. Red flag alert on use of the word “tubby”, hardly scientific.

Use of BMI as a health statistic is dubious at best, despite the claim it applies to men and women equally, you only need to examine celebrities who are “overweight” (BMI 25-30), for the men we have tubbies such as Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Keanu Reeves, Tom Cruise, Will Smith, if you include athlete celebrities like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson you start moving into “obese” (his BMI is 33).

Admittedly all the above are also loaded with cash, but they’d still attract women like flies regardless, even when over 40.

Now which “attractive” female celebs have BMI 25+ … ?

The dirty little secret is that BMI is not used by health professionals at all, only by journalists. Ethnicity, shape and waist size are the key factors, not height and weight.

Invented by a 19th century Belgian polymath, ’nuff said really.

  3. ‘tubby’ says it all. No need for any other term except , maybe, ‘fat’.
Of course a lot of the lard is put on after marriage – or whatever – has taken place. Reselection can then be a problem.
And literally a ‘Bird in the hand’ – etc.

  4. ” Women value integrity, earnings and physical protection more than looks.”
Sorry, Roger, but speaking as a fat bloke -‘ Bollocks’. You see far more skinny guys with fat women than the other way round.
