The traditional view held by generations of Remittances is that children are small servants who need training by a nanny. Once they are able to do various things (to pour a decent scotch and soda or to strip, clean and reassemble a 12 bore, for example) one may begin teaching them the essential life skills – hunting, shooting, fishing, the art of the duelling claymore, how to instruct servants and so on.
