Worth recalling if you should breed.

I have long held that there are two fundamental views of children: That they are pets who can talk, or that they are small people who do not yet know very much. The wrong one is winning.

If you read the whole article, you’ll find that you’ve taken his comment out of context.

  2. The traditional view held by generations of Remittances is that children are small servants who need training by a nanny. Once they are able to do various things (to pour a decent scotch and soda or to strip, clean and reassemble a 12 bore, for example) one may begin teaching them the essential life skills – hunting, shooting, fishing, the art of the duelling claymore, how to instruct servants and so on.
