Cat amongst pigeons

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution:
\”Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States .\”

This was rather the whole point of the English Civil War (Part I, Charles and Cromwell, Part II, Geo. Washington and Geo. III) wasn\’t it?

That the rulers were to be subject to the same laws as the ruled?

  1. The first two English Civil Wars (in the 1640s) started primarily because of religious issues, not poltiical economic ones (though those had an impact). It was Charles I’s failure to reform the religious settlement which pushed the more religious members of parliament to war.
