10. What exactly is the carbon footprint of nuclear power (including uranium refining)? Dr Tim (and others)

We are awaiting an answer from the panel on this question, and hope to update this article later today.

Given that they can\’t or haven\’t as yet answered it I shall.

Around and about the same as large scale hydro and wind power, somewhere between a half and a third of that of solar PV.

  1. Interesting. If subsequent Nuke’s are providing the energy for Uranium mining and enrichment, fuel rod fabrication, and energy used for construction-does the answer change?
