Timmy elsewhere

At the Guardian.

Pleasantly astonished to find that I\’m not the only person arguing for the use of cash in organ transplants.

  1. I’m not intrinsically opposed to organ donation, but there’s no way I would register in any government scheme. My decision is to leave that decision to my next of kin, with the following instructions:

    1. Any of my relatives in need of any of my organs must get it. If the NHS refuses, invite them to stuff their “policy”, and cremate my remains in their entirety.

    2. None of my organs are to be transplanted into any private patient. If my family can’t make money out of my organs, no-one else is.

  2. It is a bit odd that there is not a large commercial ‘Organs are us’ dealing with the market of supply and demand

  3. So Much For Subtlety

We should simply copy the Chinese, ignore the warnings of Larry Niven, and use the organs of executed prisoners.

It is not as if we have a shortage of criminals.
