Timmy elsewhere

At the Register.

I knew collecting all those typos from the Telegraph would pay off one day.

  1. She’s Their Majesty as well – that’s not an Aussie cultural fail, just a fail.

Given the current GBP/AUD rate, I’m tempted to start up a subbing bureau for the Aussie press in London. To avoid cultural errors, we could solely hire Aussies – it’s not like they’re in short supply.

(BTW, my first introduction to the Sydney Daily Telegraph was by being very confused in a Google News search when still in Pomland – the story was listed as “Daily Telegraphy – PM: I suspected Iraq wheat rort”, and Google doesn’t list the newspaper’s nationality…)

  2. You missed out the glorious reference to the ‘Large Hardon Collider,’ which briefly appeared on the DT’s website. (It’s true – Simon Heffer complained about it in one of his e-mails to staff about style.) That may not have been the Oz subs’ fault, but who cares.
