I suspect that a silicon wafer fab for PV cells is a lot simpler than one that makes billion transistor microprocessor chips with a 22 nano-metre technology. A PV cell is not much more than a diode.
It’s still not the sort of technology we want to get into. It’s best left to the Chinese.
