The silent film The Artist, a tribute to the golden age of Hollywood which has been described as the most joyful film of the year, took three of the five big awards at this year\’s Oscars including Best Actor for Jean Dujardin.

Don\’t let anyone speak French in it.

  1. True, which is a shame because French cinema has produced some of the greatest movies of the last few years. I’m not sure there was a better film released in 2010 than Of God’s and Men; nor so much as a rival to A Prophet in 2009. And while the Oscars were going crazy over pap like Crash and Brokeback Mountain they had the splendid Hidden. Berets off to the French, I say.
