  1. The ONS has done figures and they weren’t huge; also you’d need to show inequality hadn’t risen within regions. And London itself is a very large region with big differences, seems unlikely they simply reflect cost-of-living differences.

    I’m mainly sceptical about your view that property price differences reflect only inflation, not any difference in utility offered. A 2-bed flat in Kensington might be three or four times more expensive than one in Tottenham but that doesn’t mean someone in one has only the same utility from it as someone in the one in Tottenham.
