Sunny Hundal jumps the shark

sunny hundal ?@sunny_hundal

@pollytoynbee it wouldn\’t actually surprise me if part of job of some people like Tim Worstall was to comment on left wing blogs.

Because, of course, someone who enjoys taking the piss out of illogicalities can only do so for money, eh?

As a matter of fact, outside the big blogs (Con Home, that sort of thing, DT, Forbes etc) the only person I know who is directly paid to blog is Richard Murphy. He gets £35,000 a year from the Joseph Rowntree people to write his blog.

Just for the record: I am not paid by anyone at all to comment upon blogs. Whether left wing or not.

  1. Fuck me what an arrogant cow…

“People must be being paid to disagree with my greatness”

    Stupendous stupidity…

  2. It wouldn’t surprise me….

That, given the readership of the enlightened one now becomes magically transforms from something beneath hearsay to real truth.

Tim you are paid. The rumour will circulate.

Mr. Murphy will make sure the taxman is aware and I can see you being extradited to the UK within weeks to be hung, drawn and quartered in the Tower as a non-tax paying traitor taking some evil person’s shilling for having a go at the national treasures, la Toynbee, el Murph or Sunny.

And you will deserve every cut and every shoulder pop…..

How can you do such an evil thing?

(I think my lunch hasn’t settled too well today)

  3. I’m not really sure what Sunny is complaining about. If there weren’t the usual suspects (I count myself as one of them, and I’m certainly not paid) getting on Lib Conspiracy (or CiF) for some relatively good-natured banter about economics, business and finance the comments pages would be just a handful of people saying: “Well said. How can we get rid of these nasty Bullingdon Tories and their banker backers ?”

Even Sunny would find that a bore after 5 minutes. And isn’t a bit of debate and lots of hits good for his website ?

Can’t imagine Sunny wants Lib Con to end up like the New Statesmen where nobody comments apart from trying to sell some cheap training shoes.

  4. An economically unsound suggestion. It’s so easy to find holes in Polly Toynbee’s article that it’s not a very specialised job and therefore, of little value.

  5. “It wouldn’t actually surprise me if part of job of some people like Sunny Hundal was to comment on right wing blogs.”

    See what I did there?

  6. It’s part of Guardian thinking that there are rooms of people just employed to disagree with what Polly/Sunny/Murph writes.
They can’t see the other side of the arguement, so think we must be paid.

  7. The same attitude permeates the CAGW groups who think that the opposition if funded by big oil. They can’t believe that anyone would go to so much trouble for free. Possibly because they are always funded by the government with grants etc.

  8. The interesting point is the assumption that you have a regular pay check. I have had difficulties explaining self-employment – that if no business comes in, I get nowt.

BTW I’d be interested in your take (as a non-mean spirited right winger) on census figures. Not being sarcastic – you follow your free market stuff through. What do you think of increased population? Think of the hits you’d get from Trlegraph readers….

  9. The same attitude permeates the CAGW groups who think that the opposition if funded by big oil.

Admittedly, the think-tanks that produce anti-AGW papers feature many of the same people who were unequivocally paid by Big Tobacco to obfuscate cigarette health risks. But I’m sure that’s just coincidence.

(yes, assuming someone commenting in a blog thread, as opposed to someone who’s spent months or years working on a published report, is being paid is daft. So is equating the two).

  10. “Admittedly, the think-tanks that produce anti-AGW papers feature many of the same people who were unequivocally paid by Big Tobacco to obfuscate cigarette health risks.”

    fact or fiction?

  11. Doesn’t Moonbat go on at great length about large farms of people being paid to make right wing comments? I’ve asked for a contact number before, it would be nice to see some cash flow from my trolling.

Sadly, the recruitment line seems somewhat elusive.

  12. Johnb once again talks complete crap, just can’t help himself. Just to be clear, the pro-AGW propaganda machine is massively subsidised by the taxpayer (and other foundations) to the tune of billions a year, the skeptical side occasionally gains a few thousand.

And conflating the AGW skeptics with tobacco, pity that the pro-AGW crowd have closer associations with eugenics and mass genocidal groups and yet that doesn’t rate a mention.

It is a measure of the mindset of those like johnb and the pro-AGW crowd that as they are massively paid to distort the science and to lie and propagandise on behalf of their masters, that they can’t imagine people actually campaigning from an altruistic viewpoint.
