The Olympic uniform scandal

If, as is obvious, sweatshops make poor people richer, then what is the scandal over Olympic uniforms being made in sweatshops?

It\’s that fools and cretins insist that uniforms should not be made in sweatshops and thus poor people must remain poor.

  1. News headline: “Person wears clothes”
Compared to the torrent of drugs, whores, zil pile-ups, etc I suggest this is not one to go with for next month’s Guardian.

  2. If, as is obvious, sweeping chimneys with children makes poor people richer, then what is the scandal over Olympic uniforms being made in sweatshops?

It’s that fools and cretins insist that children should not be used to sweep chimneys and thus poor people must remain poor.

In other words, it depends on a) the type of sweat shop b) on who is losing their livelihood to strangers in another country and ends up on the dole, which we all pay for.

Maybe more expensive clothes that are made in the UK are cheaper in the long run if we tot up the true cost of cheap imports?
