One for the Annals of Political Hypocrisy

Congressional leaders in both parties are engaged in high-level, confidential talks about exempting lawmakers and Capitol Hill aides from the insurance exchanges they are mandated to join as part of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul, sources in both parties said.

The talks — which involve Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), the Obama administration and other top lawmakers — are extraordinarily sensitive, with both sides acutely aware of the potential for political fallout from giving carve-outs from the hugely controversial law to 535 lawmakers and thousands of their aides. Discussions have stretched out for months, sources said.

No, no, politicians aren\’t cunts at all, are they?

  1. I prose a constitutional amendment that all laws congress passes apply equally to all members of the government.

Imagine the uproar if they had the same social security arrangements as the rest of us? Or had to pay their interns minimum wage? Or had ….

  2. Here, unlike the sheep-shaggers story, the American version of the English language would be appropriate when commenting. Thus the classification of politicians being used would only generally apply to female representatives. An unfortunate & wide ranging omission may have inadvertently occurred.
