Edward Snowden has fled Hong Kong

Quite where he\’s going isn\’t certain.

It appears that Wikileaks sprang him though.

FLASH: Mr. Snowden is currently over Russian airspace accompanied by WikiLeaks legal advisors.

Given that he\’s over Russian airspace he\’s obviously not heading for Ecuador. Not from Hong Kong.

My guess would be Iceland. But that is very much a guess.

    According to Reuters:

Former U.S. National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden is booked on a flight from Moscow to Cuba on Monday, Russian news agencies Interfax and Itar-Tass cited sources at Russian airline Aeroflot as saying on Sunday.

Itar-Tass cited its source as saying Snowden would fly from Havana to the Venezuelan capital, Caracas.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said it was looking into the situation and confirmed Snowden may be planning to travel through Moscow as a transit passenger en route to another destination.

  2. The US has some nerve prosecuting Snowden for theft of its property: they stole millions of items of personal, private information in the first place. And how does Snowden’s action aid an enemy which is what espionage is supposed to mean?

  3. Trying to figure out that story So Much For Subtlety posted.

‘US Could Kill Edward Snowden With A Drone Strike’.

Compared to partially kill? Almost completely kill?

Or is this some ultra-hip joke I’m like totally missing?

  4. Is it not just me who wonders if he’ll miss one of his connecting flights after being detained en route by some non-Anglosphere Three Letter Agency or other to see what else he knows?

  5. Don’t countries like the USA send massive amounts of “aid” budget to countries like that so they can be pressured by the threat of withdrawal? Not Iceland and Sweden I mean, but Ecuador.

  6. Oh for the days when people living under the totalitarian socialist dictatorships of Russia and China tried to flee to the freedom of the west.
