Quite apart from putting your country under the direct control of giant agribusinesses,what is the point of growing food for export then having to import food to live? Coffee is a case in point because this used to be grown in the shade from trees that would provide food for the home market such as bananas. Now coffee tends to be grown in direct sunlight.
