So Oxford Brookes is the new Cirencester, eh?

Oxford Brookes University gets in a flap over students’ partridge-plucking exploits
Descendants of Clive of India and the man who led the charge at the Peterloo Massacre are among undergraduates who ruffled authorities’ feathers

There does have to be a place where the dimmer children of toffs go to hang out for a few years. Seems it’s changed since I were a lad: used to be Cirencester Ag college, now it’s Oxford Brookes.

How nice to see that while times and fashions change some things remain the same.

  1. I’m not a partridge plucker.
    I’m a partridge pluchers son…

Problem is, they didn’t used to go into government from Cirencester Ag.

  2. Oxford Brookes has been a place where people who want to say they went to university in Oxford (as opposed to going to the University of Oxford) have gone for many years.

  3. So Much For Subtlety

Frankly I am shocked that descendants of Clive of India and the man who led the charge at the Peterloo Massacre were not given a fast track entry to Oxford.

After all looting Dusky types is what made the British Empire great and gunning down Trade Unionists is what we need to make it great once more.

(OK There may be some irony in the above)

  4. When the lefties have finally reduced us to 5th world status, they will be very glad to share the result of the hunting skills of these despised (not by me) “dimmer” children. I wouldn’t put out money even if offered 1000-1 for the chance of survival of the lefties vs the dimmers. I would also warn the muslim tendency not to take them on.

  5. Oh God, I missed that in the news reports.

I fell for it and thought they were real Oxford students.

I suppose I should have checked to see which College, but life is too short.

  6. Edward Lud: Bristol was for people who couldn’t get into Oxbridge/IC/UC, not for people who couldn’t get into Keele or East Anglia. It’s a damn good university.

  7. Problem is, they didn’t used to go into government from Cirencester Ag.

Not sure all that many of them go into government from Brookes, to be honest. And there must be a few people in the Lords who were at RAC Cirencester.
