Yes Tim. Be happy to comment at Forbes all day. But watching the site eating my data allowance at cents a page is a deterrent. Question: When you’re running a site like Forbes why doesn’t it occur a lot of the visitors’lll be doing it over mobile internet? OK. No doubt they’ll be thinking the influential Forbesreader won’t quibble at data costs. Loadzamoney. But the other feature of mobile net is broadband speeds aren’t a feature unless you’re sitting right next to a mast & the kiddiewinks are at school & not gobbling bandwidth Wasapping or whatever. So you would have got a comment registration & even a comment or two. If the pages ever f*****g fully loaded. So a message to Forbes. Yeah. Wonderful you can include all those clever bells & whistles in a humble webpage. But if you wish to be read by those movers as well as shakers, think clean & lean Bloke with a Boat May 15, 2014 at 8:23 pm +1 Trying to read it on and iPad with a 1mbps connection is hard work. Bits jumping all over as other bits duowload, it’s enough to make a saint swear. Theophrastus May 15, 2014 at 8:52 pm Bis and bwab – use wifi then… As for Tim’s quote, yes, economics is better at interpreting than predicting…whoever would have guessed? Matt Wardman May 15, 2014 at 9:03 pm Commented on both. Presumably the reason for reposting 6 month old articles will be explained :-o. bloke in spain May 15, 2014 at 10:45 pm Theophrastus I’m half way up a f******g mountain & the goats round here haven’t had the fibre run in yet. bloke in spain May 15, 2014 at 10:56 pm @BWaB A meg? WTF are you? Moored under Westminster Bridge? I don’t think the orange.es data trunk does a mB except in its advertising. It’s even worse in rough weather when the pigeons have to fight headwinds bloke in spain May 15, 2014 at 11:11 pm And well worth reading the piece provoked the quote. john malpas May 15, 2014 at 11:24 pm Of course there is the fact that good eyesight is better than a pair of glasses. Of whatever calibre. But still not a lot of use at seeing what is coming. Dodging is what is needed. Bloke with a Boat May 16, 2014 at 10:34 am BIS @BWaB A meg? WTF are you? My original comment was about being at home in North Dorset where we don’t get mobile either. When I’m on the boat I get higher speeds from either marinas or 3G. dearieme May 16, 2014 at 11:05 am “Economics is a good pair of glasses”: nope, it’s a bad pair of glasses, since the microeconomics lens is really helpful but the macroeconomics lens is worse than useless.
