A little note for that nice young Owen Jones previousI wish I understood thisnextMadeleine Bunting has just rediscovered prayer 1 thought on “Timmy elsewhere” Steve May 6, 2014 at 11:12 am I’m not sure what Owen’s complaining about. Tin mining is environmentally destructive and leaches nasty metallic contamination into the soil and water. Cornwall is much cleaner since its mining industry shut down. I’m pretty sure Owen Jones is against fracking due to its environmental impact, is he not? I did like this observation though: “According to End Child Poverty, Tower Hamlets has the largest proportion of children living in poverty in the entire country.” What conclusions does Owen draw from this? That maybe immigration isn’t making us all richer? That multiculturalism isn’t necessarily compatible with equality? That human beings aren’t fungible, so replacing English people with folks from backwards and impoverished cultures that actively disdain any book learning other than the Koran might have negative consequences? Nah, Owen goes off on a limp and soggy rant about how it means something about wealth and power. Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
