  1. Bloke with a Boat

If the EU must have an investigation let them look in to why the high streets are cluttered with so many places selling the same insipid brown water and calling it coffee. And while they are it it they can find out why none of them can make a decent cup of tea.

  2. My apologies for sounding like a cracked record…

To confirm: the alleged State Aid is a “sweatheart deal” to facilitate Starbucks establishing a manufacturing facility in the Netherlands. Our friends over at the Tax Research blog have taken it as a given that this has indeed happenned.

So.. that is a real siting of real commercial activity, with accompanying siting of employees, based upon the tax deal that was offered.

    Tax incidence anybody?

  3. bloke (not) in spain

If the EUrocrats want to investigate coffee they could find out why I was able to buy 4x250gm ground for 2,75€ in LeClerk,France, last week whilst the cheapest in Sainsbury’s, here, is about £3 for 1x250gm. And it’s “Fair Trade” sh1t, to add insult.
